How does my attempt at a schedule look?

Schedules....those are freakin EVIL!!! Every moment of my life used to be scheduled and obsessive, and it freaks me out to think about getting back into that kind of thing again! But I think it's time to come to some kind of routine because I'm trying to squeaze in so many activities. As it is, most of the time I wake up and think, "Okay, what DOESN'T hurt today?" and that's what I work on LOL But I'm getting stronger and hurting less (thank you, weightlifting!) so...I'm going for it!! Still tweaking, and I'm sure will have to tweak more as I try to actually DO IT!

Sunday: Short run, 30-40 mile bike ride @ comfortable pace

Monday: Long run, Bi's/Tri's

Tuesday:Short Run, 25-40 mile bike ride @ fast pace

Wednesday: Rest Day?

Thursday: Back/Shoulders, Medium Run, 25-40 mile bike ride @ fast pace

Friday: Legs

Saturday: Chest, Short Run

Short runs will be one or two miles as fast as possible.
Medium runs will probably be whatever I feel like I can do that day, maybe 3 or 4 miles.
Long runs will be about 5 slow miles including a sprint if I feel up to it.
All three distances will (hopefully) continually increase a little.

The Tues/Thurs rides may turn out a little short the first few times. That will be with the local "racers" so I'll keep up as long as I can then turn back.

Rest day doesn't have to be Wednesday. Saturday run is optional since I can actually work my legs hard enough to get sore. I might not be ABLE to run Saturdays! The long run and Leg day can't be any closer together. The ride days can't change because they are all with a pre-scheduled group.

SOOOOooooooo.....am I missing anything obvious here?? Folks around here seem awfully good at making plans and whatnot! *I* am NOT LOL

My goals are to do the 100 mile route of the Hotter'N Hell in August, get back up to at least a 10k (longer term goal: half marathon), and put on maybe 5lbs of muscle.

I guess I'm kind of eating like I'm bulking??

Please...have at me

Oh..edited to add that bike rides are also "weather permitting".

What is your main objective for working out? If you are trying to build muscle I would recommend that you hit the weights before you do cardio. I would also recommend that you cut down on some of the cardio so you don't burn muscle.

Edit: I'm a tard. I didn't read your whole post and realize that you are training for an event. I think you can still put on some muscle while doing that but it will be difficult. Also, good luck and let us know what your time is after the event.

hehe..tard.... Thank you! I can already tell you my time will be "really really long"

Funny...'round here I always see people being told to cut down on cardio, but when I mention on a bike ride that I'm lifting weights I get a look of horror and, "Why would you want to bulk up??" hehe

I'm trying to play in both worlds, I guess I want to do the endurance events, but I don't want to look like a scrawny starving waif It's okay...I'm patient...I'll keep doing my best to do what people here do and hope I gain *something*!!

Should I try to add in MORE days of strength training? I'm not sure I could right away, but it could definitely be a goal.
