Hmm.....South Beach Products & Snacks
Well im not the typical guy who likes to eat processed food stuffs, as i like to make my own foods, however looking through some of the South Beach diet foods ive come to the opinion/conclusion that some of there stuff based on Macro Profile & ingredients are not bad for you at all and can be a convienent meal and or treat/snack/complement to a full meal based on what you buy.
Now i actully have this coupon for a dollar off one of their Cookies or Crackers products thus the reason i bring all this up and i have been browseing their selection. Looking at ingredients and macro profile however for what i can buy with this coupon i see that the South Beach Peanut Butter Cookies are not bad at all.
They Already pre Packaged, at 100 calories provide, whole grains and fiber, some healthy fat and some protein. At 100 calories this could go very well as a snack with a cup of FF Cottage Cheese/Yogurt/Milk or perhaps as a little treat after a nice TunaSalad or whatever it may be.
Check out the ingredients and such, not bad at all imo for a sweet treat and with the inclusion of whole grain fiber and such the GI should be relatively low not that it matters anyway....No reason why this can't be part of a healthy diet.
Ingredients: WHOLE GRAIN WHEAT FLOUR, PEANUT BUTTER (PEANUTS, SALT), HIGH OLEIC CANOLA OIL, MALTITOL, SUGAR, CORNSTARCH, POLYDEXTROSE, DEFATTED PEANUT FLOUR, OATMEAL, BROWN RICE SYRUP, SALT, LEAVENING (BAKING SODA, CALCIUM PHOSPHATE), SOY LECITHIN (EMULSIFIER), CARAMEL COLOR, NATURAL AND ARTIFICIAL FLAVOR, ACESULFAME POTASSIUM (SWEETENER), SUCRALOSE (SWEETENER).

I have had them before (the PB cookies that is). They're pretty tasty, and actually have pieces of peanuts in them. Obviously I wouldn't make them a staple, but they really do fit the bill when you want a PB cookie.
When I first started trying to lose weight, I ate a lot of the pizzas and wraps that they had. If you couple them with a little side salad it's not a bad meal at all, nutritionally speaking, if you are in a crunch.
Also, their bars and snacks are some of the best that I have seen widely available in regards to macros and whatnot. Not too many calories, good fats, and a good balance of protein to carbs.
Overall they're probably the best convenience foods IMO, but definately geared more towards a woman's caloric requirements. Probably not enough food for men or larger women.

agreed, and as a plus since they are geared towards a womans caloric requirements one of their snacks would fit perfectly into "ones" macros, and it really isn't bad for you.
Ive never tried any of their dinner entrees, i have had their cereal bar a few times back in the day and i must admit they are good. I Don't ever plan on buying their pre made meals or any brands pre made meals, but their snack products don't seem bad at all and would make an intrestion addition to a full cooked meal.
Same with Kashi, ive been looking at there TLC Crackers, a serving of the Seasame-Honey Crackers would work wonders with yogurt or CC and fruit. Seems very nutritious.

Their pizzas have impressive macronutrient breakdowns and ingredients. Whole wheat crust, 36g of carbohydrates (~10 of which are fiber), ~30g of protein, total of 350 calories for the whole pizza.

All the 100calorie snacks just make my husband mad. He says it's a tease.
It's not something I'd have regularly but when you gotta have cookies you just gotta have cookies or life ain't worth livin'! At those moments, I like SBD's oatmeal chocolate chip.

Its all about control, for a person like me who plans out 6 nice meals a day i want variety. 1 little pack of cookies at 100 calories that arent bad for you and ya can't go wrong, who doesnt looooove cookies. I was eyeing the chocolate chip but i think ill go with PB and get Lindts 70% Cacoa Dark Chocolate as my chocolate.
