A friend of mine owned a juice bar at a popular 24-hour gym in New Jersey for several years, so I got to try a lot of different proteins on the market. Recently I got a sample from Rich Gaspari at Gaspari Nutrition of a whey protein blend he is testing. I'm not one to drink vanilla ever but the vanilla was really good and the chocolate was easily the best I've ever had.

Would you guys pay more than average, say $35-40 for 75-80 servings with each serving being 30grams of great tasting whey protein?
Thats about .50¢ per 30g serving."If you always do what you did,

Their I****trix Reloaded (chocolate hurricane flavor) also tastes great.
Actually, there are a few other good brands out there that have gotten better. Ergopharm has a new whey product that doesn't taste to bad (green apple)

MuscleTech has 32 pages of advertising out of a total of 242 pages in a recent edition of Muscle and Fitness. Thats about all MuscleTech is good for, marketing. Recently I have heard nothing but bad comments about their products."If you always do what you did,
you will always get what you always got."

Nectar has been my favorite. It's the first non-chocolate protein I really tried and has been good; I still get some farts from it though. Now, hands down, my favorite protein is GF Pro. In my opinion the taste is much better than Nectar in that it's not as overpowering / sweet, ("just right" as Goldie-Locks would say) and it's been easier on my stomach for sure. I can't say a lot easier, because Nectar was never all that harsh, but there is a noticible difference for me. Apple, Orange, and Rasberry Lemonade are all really good. I haven't tried Cherry as I imagine everything cherry flavored tasting like cough syrup; maybe I'm wrong.
GF Pro is 10 bucks more a container, so for many that may be an issue, but protein above everything else I take is where I'm not going to cut corners. It's been the best for me so far, and I've finished off / phased out my last Nectar (barirng the introduction of some new flavor I just have to try out)...honestly didn't think I'd ever be saying that.
For non-whey, I'm still drinking down at least 2 scoops of Muscle Milk / day, usually 2 hours or so before I workout. I love the tatse of that stuff too (plus there are dozens to switch it up), and it's pretty easy on me. After YEARS of trying out nearly every protein, I'm pretty psyched having just these two in my kitchen.Last edited by Vanilla Thunder; 05-18-2004 at 12:59 PM.

The question was to whey protein you cheeseball, not a blend (I know you threw in Nectar)

It's tough to beat the fruit flavored isolates."I see you're drinking 1%"

In regards to the Gaspari Nutrition protein. Maybe he should consider a different source, because the amount of calories is nowhere near correct for the labels claims according to the macronutrients listed.
With that said, Nectar & GF Pro are great.
I still really like Optimum's vanilla and chocolate also.

everyones different. if you buy a 5lb container of a certain flavor of whey, expect that flavor to not taste so good towards the end of the container. Good tasting whey: XF cinnamon roll.

But, under the name of "liberalism," they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."
