Hotel room workout...ideas?

Am traveling (backpacking) through India for a month and will be roughing it so doubt I'll have access to any gyms.

So, gotta stay mildly in shape right? Don't wanna lose tooooo much muscle. So far I have:

-dips using the bed (feet will be on the ground I guess so will have to do lots).
-various pushups (wide, reg., close grip).
-situps, crunches, etc.
-those delt circle things - forwards and backwards. If I do them for long enough they seem to work a bit. Shrugs too of course.

What about other shoulder exercises? Biceps?

I'll also do plenty of running (and swimming when I get a chance) but need more than just that. Cheers!

for shoulders id recommend handstand pushups.
back/biceps- maybe some door pullups, if they can take your weight.

Just enjoy your holiday mate, I went trekking in Nepal, north of India last year and the last thing I cared about was my muscles shrinking. I just enjoyed being in a totally different place and environment.

Just enjoy seeing a new culture, new landscapes etc. I lost a lot of muscle when I went away, due to high altitude trekking, and came back really enthusiastic to hit the gym after my experience of a lifetime.

I think what you mentioned are good exercises to keep you fit and conditioned on your holiday, for biceps perhaps find a tree branch or something and do close grip chins, pullups etc. They give the biceps a good hammering,

Or perhaps if you have packpacks with a handle, do some curls with that and put in your posessions to increase resistance.

Do pushups with your feet raised, they make them harder so it effectively gives your chest, delts and triceps a good bodyweight workout without excessively high reps which is common with pushups.

But seriously, I think you will be caught up with the excitement of travelling in a new place to worry about your muscles, thats what happened with me anyhow.

good luck, and have a great trip

Yeah, I thought about doin' nothing the whole time, but I usually travel a few times a year and feel like crap if I get too lazy for a whole week (let alone a whole month).

Tried those handstand pushups but can't seem to get them right. I know they kick ass but I usually end up with a near-sprained wrist (or 2).
