Help me out real quick please!(serious) messed up on Mother's Day

I was talking to a girl and I asked her how her mother's day went...she asked me if I knew where her mother was...turns out this is their first mother's day without her. She died last march after mother's day.

I'm gonna say sorry...what else should I say? I can't say I know how it feels cause my mother is still alive.

she's a chirstian if that matters...and she knows her mother is in a better place.

i'd rep if i could, but I don't have any...please help, though.

its just an honest mistake. if she is angry at you for asking how her mother's day was and you didnt know her mom died, then she is not a very ideal girl if you ask me

if she's not mad, then it was just a simple awkward moment that has passed and should be forgotten
