I'm new to this sport could anybody tell me if I have what it takes to be a great powerlifter. I am 5 feet 8 235lbs 8 inch wrists 18 inch biceps I hardly ever workout but can benchpress 315 on a bad day. If I really started working hard does it sound like I have the genetics to be very strong? Also I am 27 years old. Thanks for any help.

Think about this.. Powerlifter lift for glory bodybuilder's lift for looks. That right there is the difference between the 2 sports. Forget about 18inch arm's and 8 inch wrist... they mean NOTHING in pressing IRON. I think u can become a great powerlifter yes if u have the heart to do it and the will to work hard.

Should I take supplements or are they a waste of money,I'm thinking of taking Universal Animal Paks,Twinlab Glutamine capsules,Nitro-Tech,and Cell-Tech.Also any advice on how I can eat enough to support gains in strength without gaining alot of weight, I already weigh 235-240,and don't won't to get above 250 but it's real easy for me to gain weight, or should I just go ahead and not worry about the weight gain.

Nitro tech and cell tech are a rip off. do some searching in the forums for details. Do some searching in the cyberstore for better, more affordable products.
