    Talking efa's

    I just started supplementing my diet with Essential Fatty Acids.
    I was wondering if anyone out there has used these over an extended period of time (at least a year or more) and what, if any health or fitness benefits you've experienced-

    efa's are a good supp to take. they help with the skin (prevent stretch marks), hair and testostrone levels... you won't see huge gains in strength or anything but its a good supp.

    There is absolutely nothing "unsafe" about efa's. They're a required nutrient unlike carbohydrates.

    Bascially they are 'filler fats' by increasing fats over 15% of total diet hitting a ceiling at 35% you increase test levels. EFA's are perfect for this becuase they are very clean fats meaning they dont cause you to gain as much wieght as satrated fats, and there is less health risk involved.

    EFA's also must be consumed in the diet for the body to manufacture other substances such as prostaglandins.

    The only concern for long term intake is that when omega-6 and omega- are out of ballance they tend to supress the converstion of the lesser one.

    Used to be I would avoid EFA's because I had a problem with indigestion with them. Burps that tasted like I ate whale blubber 3 times a day. But since I've been on a good rx acid inhibitor I don't have this reaction to them anymore.

    Has anyone had a problem supplementing with Flax Seed Oil. I am having a problem with severe cramping and the shi......'s. I am only using 1 tbsp in my protein drinks or on brocoli.

    What can use in place of Flax, I am on a Keto diet so I need my fats.

    Whole flax seeds taste better, are way cheaper, and also provide protein and fiber. You have to grind them up though because you can't digest seeds very well. Use a coffee grinder and take a shot with every meal. With 6 meals that will provide you with 48g of the best fat there is.

    Actually hemp seeds are better but due to the DEA's BS and marijuana being a Schedule I drug, they are either impossible to find or too expensive, can I say **** THE DRUG WAR, put those billions of dollars towards the War on Terrorism.
