Looking for a good way to lose some weight and keep it off

How can I lose some weight pretty quick and keep it off? Like what should I eat and stay away from? How much should I work out a week?

Eat right, and exercise? The starve yourself diets are not going to keep the weight off. Most likely you'd gain more weight after doing it.

There is no loose weight quick and keep it off "plan"... People who look ripped took a year or years to get to...
    Starting Weight 255lbs. 2/1/2011
Best weight so far 187lbs 5/1/2012 - Then got a hot gf a boat and gained fat lol...
    Starting again for the finish line of 180lbs - 11/1/2012 @ 201lbs

just stay away from stuff that you KNOW is bad!
don't binge on pizza, fried chicken, mcdonalds etc. i do treat myself to one of these treats once, every month or so when i'm out with my buddies, but they are BAD!

try to have as much lean protein as you can, and have healthy carbs (ie. veges).
lower your sugar intake, try to get them from fruits.
get your fiber intake as well and pop a multivitamin.

I'd say lift 3 days a week and try and cut out soda (if you drink it) and half the amount of rice/potatoes you eat with each meal.

It was really tough for me to cut out rice but I went from eating about 5 or 6 cups of rice per meal to 1 cup, lost a lot of weight lol

You can start by reading, reading, reading the stickies and other success stories here. I can tell you how to lose weight, but if you want to keep it off you need to understand the reasoning behind everything we say. So do some homework

weight loss is a marathon not a sprint first of all. Stay away from the processed foods, sugars, trans fat, sat. Fat. Stick to lean protein such as chicken breast, Complex carbs such as brown rice, sweet patotoe, good fats such as nuts, natural peanut butter, For a beginner which I assume you are it would be a full bodyworkout along with cardio to help build lean mass, and lose BF. Also make sure you find your maintenance calculator and subtract 500 cals per day from that in order to lose 1 pound of weight a week. There are calculators online. Search through google for weight maintenance calculators.
