POLL: How much sleep do you need to function normally?
I'm not asking how much sleep you need to JUST get by but how much you need to actually function or perform normally in your daily life.

I think it's more about consistency. I could sleep 3 hours tonight and be fine. but if i had only gotten 6 each night this week, it would be a different story. if you're getting 8 a night for a few nights, you can get away with a lot on a weekend.
I'm not saying you can "bank" your sleep, but it does help to be well-rested. I aim for 8+ per night, I think any less than 7 for more than a day or two in a row and i'm in trouble.

Depends on the person. I for one can get by with minimal sleep.

it all depends on the person. a friend of mine goes like 4 hours a night but then he has one night where he sleeps for 10-11 hours. I try to get about 8 hours of sleep. If I dont get more than 6 hours of sleep, I always keep a LoCarb Monster near me to give me a little boost here and there.

If I don't get around 9 hours, I start yawning at about 5pm. Also I'd fall asleep if I attempted to read.
