I read a quote from Arnold about a body builder and he basically said that even if you only have 7 inch wrists you can still be a body builder, the famous body builder he was talking about had 7 inch wrists and 20 inch arms.
The way he said "only 7 inch" got me thinking, so I pulled out the measuring tape and sure enough my wrists are only 7 inches.
What is the size of your wrists?
Is there any chance that you wrist can get bigger (hope this is not to silly a question)?
Is there any evidence that small wrists mean that you will be weaker?

What is your wrist size and what does it mean?

My wrist is only 6.5 inches. It's kind of an indication of your bone structure. If you have thick wrists likely you also have wide shoulders, big ricage, thick ankles and so on. Doesn't make any difference in how much you can lift, just how you look.

Funny bc I just said "in person" in my post...
Did you take your ADD meds today>?
Dude, your 177....you dont even register on my radar....im not into being below average weight wise for my height and lean....it isnt one of my goals.
Just take and average person and have them eat well and do some gymnastics and they will become you.......not impressive to me.
If you like it go with it. Its your body, ut lets not act like a 5"11 177 lean guy is all that impressive in real life to most people...
It isnt a personal attack buddy.

We're still waiting???...the only thing your profile indicates is you are 25...
Anyway, the point is, you can't make any significant change to your wrist size in most cases, but you can develop the muscles.
If you are lucky enough to have the (assumed) huge biceps of zaxx19 and the typical wrist size of alkell, you will look HUGE.
If alkell and zaxx19 had the same size bicep size, alkell would look bigger."Suffer the pain of discipline or suffer the pain of regret."
Training regularly but no progress?
You need one or more of these: more food, more weight, more reps or more rest.

Oh, and zaxx19, here's some comments from others about my not "all that impressive in real life to most people" physique when I asked them to point out my weaknesses..

Hi Jon… I pretty much have the same problem… feeling like I’ve reached my genetic potential and that it will be very hard… or almost impossible to see meaningfull improvements… Just like you… I’d like to keep the symetry and proportions I have… but add some mass everywhere… but it will be a long and painfully slow progress… I guess the way to go is set small shortterm goals and work towards that… I guess it starts with taking a couple weeks off any training completely… now there’s a rookie telling an experienced trainer what to do… lol… anyway… you asked or my .02c Take care… Bert

5′11 175? I say shoot for 180 lean mass. Look great though, good cut. Keep up the good work! But lets see you at 180 or 185!
!ban_dit Says: April 29, 2007 at 4:51 pm
I think you’re right on track, Jon. Your goal is to gain an additional 8 lbs, putting you right where adguy suggests. Body looks lean and mean now! . Us folks with small frames have a challenge to put on mass (believe me, I know), like Bert (bobwire33) says, we’re just "rookies", but hey, you asked for it!…Best of luck…Jeff.

ok..there really isnt anything i can see..but if you want me to just ^find^ something..i would say the same as the others..add about 5-10 lean mass…maybe a peak on the biceps….upper pecs fuller and that12 pack
now like i said before im just being really really picky..your an amazing specimen of a man…i feel bad saying anything..but you made me do it!!
teriberi Says: April 29, 2007 at 5:34 pm
Oh right, Mr. Statue of David…I am looking at the pics and I can’t find flaws. I think you’re proportionately perfect. But I could be biased, I think insanely huge muscles aren’t attractive (I know, I said it) but lean and sculpted is pretty dandy and that you are my friend. So, you must be doing something right!
Justin Says: April 29, 2007 at 5:59 pm
Hey jon, i dont know what you are looking for but i would say lats? and shoulders? and upper pecs? i think that sounds about right, everything else seems good! good luck!
Moirae Says: April 29, 2007 at 6:12 pm
i was gonna say lats..but hell that one pic brings them out so nicely..sigh..why do u make us do this ..hehehe
dtrek930 Says: April 29, 2007 at 6:17 pm
Great Overall. Hmmmm…I gotta’ recomned hitting the manly Traps! Build ‘em up and it will pronounce your delts more. Maybe build them caps a lil’…
You are already a Lean Mean machine…Me personally, I would like to see more pecs on ya’. No real negatives, Sweetie…you look 2 d*mn good. *smile*
Jamesters Says: April 29, 2007 at 6:38 pm
Jon, I actually think your proportion and symmetry is good so if anything needed to be worked on it would just be too add mass all around evenly. However, you don’t seem to show your legs in your pictures so maybe those could be worked on?
Maddi Says: April 29, 2007 at 8:48 pm
I’m sorry Jon. I can’t really criticize. You know I love your pics. My personal preference runs to slightly more body fat. But I know that is bodybuilding blasphemy, so forget I said anything. Keep up the great work, stay sweet and hot.
Marc Says: April 29, 2007 at 9:24 pm
It’s hard to comment because we’re very similar in build ! I say hit the back- Lats & Traps, you’ll also gain some LBS. I love Sumo Deads, 1 Arm DB Rows, Pull ups, Cable Pull Downs.
AdamSoS Says: April 29, 2007 at 11:41 pm
Hey mate. Well..This is going to be worse then taking a test! hmm. well mate personally your body is perfect. For me.. thats my goal. If you get bigger you loose agility.ie the pro level size. Cant see your legs so cant comment on the lower half. You mentiond wanting to add extra lean mass. Could be intersting to see what would happen if you did add that extra few lbs of lean muscle mass. Thats also the problem. They say once you reach your goal. People are still never happy. Like me saying your sculpture is my goal.. will i be 100% happy? i duno..Is there any image in your head that you strive to be? I cant make any negative’s im afraid.. Only add a few lbs to get a big bigger brute if you strive for more goals to be broken
bigdude201 Says: April 30, 2007 at 1:03 am
I don’t know JD. I’m totally jealous of your build. Wish I looked like that. If you want to get down to it, I agree with BobWire33 about overall mass and I’d say try to put some mass on the chest. But again, I wish I looked like you do now! Good luck.
TrailrParkTrash Says: April 30, 2007 at 6:14 am
LOL..I don’t see any weaknesses!! You look great for summer - but that doesn’t mean you can slack off Jon.. keep up with a maintenance workout and you’ll be fine !
trojannation Says: May 1, 2007 at 10:20 am
Your symmetry is great and there are really no weak bodyparts from what I can see. Keep up the good work."Suffer the pain of discipline or suffer the pain of regret."

I'd disagree with you here. A larger bone structure will mean a whole different system of mechanics and leverage for the body. 99% of the time, a bigger boned guy will far outlift a smaller boned guy. Go look at the strongest guys around, they're always the biggest boned guys.

WOW, just wow. Of course it's possible to increase the size of your wrists. It's called wrist exercises. Such as sledgehammer levering (best for wrist size IMO), bending, ripping, tearing, wrist curls, wrist rollers, and plate curls.
BTW my wrist size is 7" because I'm cursed with a tiny bone structure but they have gotten bigger as of recent due to exensive wrist work.

there isnt much muscle in your wrists which makes it hard to get them to grow...however there are a lot of tendons in your wrist which add to its size along with of course the bones...if your wrist gets stronger the tendons will grow along with the muscles and so the exercises such as wrist curls, grippers, plate pinches, hammer levering and heavy supporting lifts will cause ur wrists to grow...btw i have some of the smallest hands u will ever see and because my wrists grew about a half an inch in the last 9 months it looks kinda weird. only good thing is i can slip out of handcuffs a lot easier now lol
p.s. dont forget to work the extensors
