I'm 32, a white English guy and 176cm in height or about 5'9 1/2". Am I at a disadvantage in attracting women when it comes to the dating scene? Especially around the numerous competition (other guys) who are 6' or taller?
I ask this question because two women, both about 5'4", told me I was "kinda short" for a man. Of course I laughed at it, told them 5'9" to 5'10" was average height for a guy, said they were being silly and pretended it didn't bother me, but as I've been single for many years it makes me wonder it may indeed be one of the reasons I get rejected a lot, or at least percieved less of a "catch". Do women even acknowledge a medium height! They seem to think men are either 'tall or short' and don't see medium.
Also, during a confrontation a few months back with three taller bullies (i guess they were about 6'0" to 6'2" in height) they said I was "short as f**k", and the other one said "i've done turds that are bigger than you!" when they were picking on me looking for a fight.

Is 5'9" short for a man when it comes to the dating scene?

Nope, not in my opinion and that is a mere 1/2 taller than me. Different girls have different preferences though.

I'm 5'7. Calm down
Height isn't really a problem unless it begins affecting your confidence IMO. I'd just laugh at 30 year old guys talking **** looking for a fight. Now if they turn it physical then I don't care how big you are I'm not taking that ****

As long as the girl you're seeing is shorter than you are i dont see a problem. 5'9 is pretty average anyway. Haters gonna hate, just do your own thing brah.

If you lift or are happy with your body composition it is never a problem. I am 5'8'' but have a considerable amount of muscle so I roll with the height well.

At that age women, most women are fat and disgusting. They really can't be beggars. As long as the dude as a good body and a decent job I'm sure you'd be a big catch.

Height is irrelevant -- unless YOU make it an issue and get inside your head. Then it becomes an excuse and you have a passive, victim mindset.

nobody gives a flying **** how tall you are. i would expect someone to need an ego boost if they were under 5'6" but jesus christ you're above average.
32 and still has insecurities? jesus christ man you still have a lot of growing up to do.
i'm god damn sick of ****ing height threads...

The only time girls instantly rule you out for height is on the internet. I've dated girls who would not normally date someone my height just because of how I carry myself. I was always worried when I was younger about my height. I finally realized there wasn't **** I could do about it. I did something I could help, get jacked. Good body + Good personality will land you plenty of hot women.

hes asking a question bruhiem - it doesnt mean he is insecure
anyways ya lots of girls have told me that they are attracted to only taller guys (asked friends and what not. a number of them said that around 4"+ greater than themselves was what they liked). really limits you in terms of women imo. There are tons of hot girls where i live who are 5'7 - 5'10 who are basically off limits lol.
and as for bbing people who are taller and muscular look way better than shorter dudes (generally). but meh you have to do the best with the cards your dealt
*edit- lol just date a short girl like me. brb 5'2Think you of the fact that a deaf person cannot hear. Then what deafness may we not all possess? ~ Dune

it's only a disadvantage if you let it get to you. as far as i'm concerned, your height is average and a lot of people still have it worst. get jacked, that would boost your confidence and in turn helping you out on the dating scene.

No, 9 out of 10 women are shorter than you (me, also 5' 9 1/2").
Probably 5 out of 10 women wouldn't have an opinion on your height.

I'm 6'2 and I find it helps me get more attention from girls, but who knows. Not all girls have a fetish for tall guys.

5"9
never, ever, ever, ever had a problem attracting chicks between 5"4 and 5"7, my ideal heights for a woman
being tall will give you more options since tall chicks will almost always want someone taller than them, but if you're good looking and well built with charisma what is to stop you getting hot chicksR.I.P Darrel "Dimebag" Abbot, ...August 20, 1966 - December 8, 2004...you are a true ****in legend

I've only really met asian and girls that are 5'8+ (which is understandable) that really worry about guys being 6' and up. I know white people tend to be taller but at 5'9 you're still quite a bit taller than most women.
Height matters but as long as you're taller than she is she will be happy.

5'9" is the ideal height for a guy from my perspective (I'm 5'2"). I dated a 6'5" guy once and it was stupid. I had to stand on a box to kiss him ffs.

The two guys I know who have pulled the most tail were 5'7" and 5'9" respectively. They dominated the guys who were 6'+.
Stop being stupid.
