Before and After...250+ and now 160.
Here is a photo of me back in 1999, I started working out when i moved to another state to go to college, I broke up with my girlfiend and found that girls don't like guys with bigger boobs then them. So after staying away from fast food and eating right and sticking to a generic workout plan i lost enough weight in about a year the next time i went home to have my mom not have any clue who i was. I tried lots of supplments and found out that the best thing to go is eat right, cardio in the morning, protein and sticking to your workout. So what does everyone think?

That is so awesome man. That just takes so much dedication and that is very inspirational to anybody. I can imagine how great you feel right now bro. The hard hard work definitely paid off.

DAMN!! That is some impressive work. You might as well post diet/workout, etc., everyone will be wanting to know just how the hell you did that. CONGRATULATIONS, one of most amazing transformations I have seen! What are your goals from here? Later, Odin

Thanks Apocalypse, Chemicaldreamer & Odin.
Yeah I feel great, but honestly i had no choice. I'm a focused person and went i set my goals its just a matter of time. What motivated me the most was everyone telling me i was looking thinner. At the gym I asked a lot of questions and didnt anything stop me. I can also say i have never even smoked a cigerate or done any kind of drugs. I have wine every now and then.
As far as the loose skin, I had some on my stomach, but i used this cream to smooth it out, and doing cardio and eating right made it disapear pretty fast and me being so young. I am 23 now...The shorts are low because i still have shorts that don't fit that i still wear and are confrontable.
Here is a photo of me and a girlfriend of mine. Most people have no clue how much i have lost or what i looked like even 3 years ago.
i will have to post my work-out routine and what i have done to drop the weight, thanks!

Truly an inspiration.
Mon, I have noticed that a few of your posts mention Personal Development authors, and quotes. I'm a huge fan of Zig and da boys. But I was wondering, is this something that you got into after your transformation, durring, or before? I am a true believer in "for things to change you must change". That is the reason I ask, and if that is something that you started before, how did that impact your dedication? I am 5'0 190, so far I have lost 20 pounds. Do cardio 6 days a week, and lift 3. I don't even know if I could have made those changes if I hadn't been introduced (not literally) to Tony Robbins, Steven Covey, and many more.

Would you mind posting just what that cream was? And how did cardio help the loose skin disappear?
I personally dropped down from 220 to 145 about a year ago, although I started bulking a little while ago to get back up to 155 (just now getting hardcore about that part). I'm not exactly sure if I have loose skin, based on pictures that I've seen of others - it could just be that I never finished losing weight and still have a tiny bit of flab to get rid of after I gain a bit more muscle mass.
Did you ever find that as you lost weight, the fat on some parts of your body made minor folds (in my case, the gluteals)? Since I've been working out, that's actually been improving, so I'm inclined to think that I'm just a bit flabby rather than loose skin... but I'd like to hear your personal experience with such an issue.

some exerices tone/tighten better than others. Cardio is just one of those exercises. Running is great for your stomach, especially your lower abs. Toning exercises, as well as specialized exercises (such as training, i.e. for boxing?) are great for getting rid of fat that just won't go away with dieting, or for enhancing the look of your muscles. This will generally make the skin tighter, or at least look tighter. Also, water retention could be causing your problem.
As we age skin elasticity does lessen, so creams like cocoa butter can help. There are also procedures such as body lifts that can help with those really drastic weight loss situations, but I don't think it really applies here.

I'll keep that in mind. I'm fairly young, so I would imagine that some cardio will do the trick, but I'll check out cocoa butter if the need arises.
Does skim milk cause you to retain water? I drink a lot of it... about a gallon ever 3-4 days.

I don't think milk makes you retain water but it is high in carbs and calories. You might want to check out Hood Carb Countdown milk instead (3 carbs per glass) and keep it to 1-2 glasses a day.

Well I just got back from the BB.com Fitness expo. It was a great time, but I wish I took more photos. I thought I would have more time, but I was really busy speaking to people and passing out products & flyers. I was on a couple radio shows. I did a TV interview and met many great people. Here are all the photos I took – I know its sad!

Now some friends advised me to use HMB, as it helps burning more fat and give the energy to maintain muscle mass, what do you think about this?
This leads me to the second question, what supplies did you use to take to maintain mass muscles? Vitamins, HMB, Proteins, Creatine?
Or am i suppose to live with this loss and try to make it over when i am done from my diet?
Thanks for your time.
Kind Regards,

No your not suppose to live with the loss, You should be holding on to as much as possible. About HMB – It’s a good supplement. I would make sure you take your BCAA’s with each meal – before/after workout. The supplements that I used was – Whey protein, Glutamine, Multi-vitamin, EFA’s & creatine. BB.com put together a great combo of these products at a very good price here:

I know there is no substitute for the hard work, but I am looking to get all I can out of my first two months, before vacation. Can you point me to specifically what you used and *how* if it is already in the forum somewhere?
Much thanks and this *is* inspiring!! I hope to have my pictures up in a few months.

Thanks so much Chris, Check out the link above, that is the “Stack” that the ad is referring to. It is the “Dorman Combo”. You are very right there is no substitute for hard work and consistency – good luck!

I’m glad to hear that you are making this fitness lifestyle a priority now. I did not really have any loose skin, I did use a cream that was suppose to help tighten the cream. I just finished an article that will be on bb.com in the next couple of days that explains loose skin, stretch marks and gyno. Please check it out it explains how to battle loose skin pretty well.

There isnt a word to describe what you did.. the transformation obviously took a complete mind change in your capabilities as a person, and your character. In my opinion, you should get all the praise, and love you deserve.
I have worked with people overweight, and their number 1 problem has been seeing through their goals. You obviously saw where you wanted to be, and made that dream a reality.
My last comment.. being that I am kind of a ladies man myself... is DIZZAM..
You chill with some dimes man...I just cant believe the amount of quality women you hang out with. I live in San Diego, where image is everything.. and it's still tough to round up that many hotties!!
Kudos all the way around man... youve got great character, and warriors mentality....

Thanks man, I’m not to worried about all the people sating negative things, It doesn’t even phase me. I have had to deal with it all my life. Goals are very important for success, Many people have no clue how close they were to success when they gave up. You have to believe in yourself that you can achieve anything & everything. I love San Diego, I go out there once every couple of months. Its just not the same as living here in AZ. I’m sure if you ever come out here you will understand that there is a plethora of beautiful women here. I’m just lucky that I know a lot of great girls.

I'm curious because I do 3 sets of 10 reps every day on every machine at least, and I generally end up doing more than just 3 sets if I have the energy. So, to the point, what is your workout routine and length?

You can find my workout routine here - http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/louis1.htm - Sounds like you are overtraining. You should not be working out everyday, and using every machine everyday. I usually workout for about 45-60min 5 days a week. Your body builds muscle outside of the gym. You need to have plenty of rest and follow a solid diet of foods that give your muscles the nutrients it needs to grow!

Thanks so much. No this is an actually site with an amazing collection of articles, supplements, members and its growing consistently. I hope you stick around – when I first came to this site over a year ago. All I was looking for was cheap supplements and it has become a major part of my life.

Hi Louis. I saw your ad in Muscle&Fitness ( as part of a bodybuilding.com ad) and was proud for you. The transformation is indeed inspirational and its also nice to see you are making a career out of it.You desserve that 100%.
My only comment would be on what i found in the ad as an over-emphasis on the "ladies-getting success", as part of becoming a bodybuilder. I agree, confidence is one of the benefits from being in shape, but naming success with women as the main reason to bodybuild makes it look like something pretty shallow. As a psychologist i can also tell , that there are many people who did undergo a physical transformation but that didnt improve their social skills. Thus, no one can guarantee that as a result, unless the weights and diet come along with some kind of an internal process, which i am sure you had.
Good job!

Good job!

Something "pretty shallow"? Are you kidding me? Even if mondesi encouraged bodybuilding solely for no other reason than to have success with women, all he's doing is motivating people to EARN a new kind of lifestyle through hard work and determination. The drive for sex is a drive so strong that few other drives come before it. If one decides to take it upon his or her self to work hard and give up other leisures of life in order to gain the ability to attract the opposite sex, how is that shallow? Wanting to look good has nothing to do with whether or not that person values inner qualities of other people. Shallowness comes from a state of mind completely different than simply wanting to look good and wanting to make yourself as best as you can be.

Alright, Alright...Dude, you are an inspiration to everyone on here seeking a the very goal to lose weight and although it seems impossible, you are living proof it can be done and I am sure you worked sooo hard at achieving such a goal as this and I commend you. I am extremely impressed at your results and you deserve everything good that comes to you and I cant say enough but awesome job, you are the man. I also picked up a Muscle Mag at the health food store today and came home to have my dinner of fish, lettuce and water and I opened up the Mag to read, and there you were on Page 23 and I read it all. Unreal, I thought, because you deserve that as well but I gotta tell ya, I saw all those women all over u and just gotta say.....One At A Time...lol...Awesome work and good luck..........Michael

I can soooo relate to that....I still have my old license and people never believe it's me when I have to show I.D. It's actually a great feeling.
Congrats on the hard work and dedication, I know it feels awesome from my own experience.

Flesh out your story, so to speak. Be interested in how you made the transition. Sounds like you came up with some basic, common sense conclusions.
