Tattoo's and contests?
Just wondering... I have one tatty on my left upper arm and I was thinking about getting one last one in june on my left pec / shoulder..
When concerning competitions, is it against the rules to have tat's or is it looked down on at all? Because I may consider doing competitions if I can but I don't want the tattoos to ruin it for me. Any help would be great

if it is distracting or takes away from your symetry then yes you can be marked down. In some cases if you can get dark enough you can't see them. But you have to be DARK.

Take a look at my profile and see if you think that tattoo would do much? I think that would be okay but im not so sure about the one on my shoulder / pec IF I get it.. But thats if I'm even big enough for competitions.Originally Posted by VenomX

that tat would be fine, you'd be dark enough that it wouldn't show or be distracting. I have a friend who competes with a couple tats on his arms and i don't see them from the crowd. However a Pec tatoo could be very distracting, i haven't seen one that isn't.

No problem man, as far as tats go, i think that ones on the arms are "ok" as long as they aren't too elaborate, and in the middle of the back so it doesn't throw off the symetry. In this game the physique is the most important so anything that distracts from that is inappropriate. you have a good physique, you should do well.

Bear with me because not having a tattoo I've not given this serious thought but if someone were really worried about it couldn't tattoos be covered up with concealing makeup on the day of the contest? Maybe a little latex concealer before applying the fake tan. A contest is one day and a tattoo everyday for the rest of your life, which I would think would be more important.

hmm I'll have to do some serious considering then.. I think ill just wait it out a bit and get the tatty after summer if i still want to.

Jan tana makes a tattoo coverup makeup. not that I'm going to use it. lol I have 5 tats...one of my friends won overall in bodybuilding, and he's got ink EVERYWHERE. Didn't make a lick of difference. His tan covered them well enough.

I agree with everyone else. I have tatts on my back and both arms. After tan and bronzer, you could barely see them if the judges seen them at all.
