I have a 2 day workout schedule. Very basic because i am starting out and doing mainly compound movements, not isolating much.
So anyways on day 1 i have shoulders and triceps ( i am excluding other exercices, dont go thinking i only work upperbody;-)), and day 2 i have bench (chest workout, but bench is the only thing in my workout that bothers me sometimes).
But the problem is bench also uses shoulder and tricep muscles somewhat, so its harder. And if i worked really hard on day 1, when i get to day 2 (i tend to do: monday=day one, thuesday rest, wednesday day 2, thursday rest, friday day one...etc.)
Is this enough rest? 3 full days+one half day.
Should i just let more rest time pass? I am not working the muscles directly, but i still strain them somewhat (even though i usually try to really focus the weight on the chest). So sometimes when i still feel my triceps are a bit sore, i have trouble benching hard. Cant do as much weight.
so when i feel im not rested fully, or i feel good but triceps still a bit sore, should i just wit an extra day before day 2?
I plan on doing this routine only for a few weeks or s month, nothing long.
Just compound movements to wake up every muscle.
ideas? Is it enough rest?

If it is bothering you enough to make one day not as much as it could be I would add another workout inbetween your days. Do you have an arm day, leg day, or back day? There are many places you can add more lifts and seperate your workouts.

well how much resting time do you put in? Before, when i bbed (over a year ago) i would work everything once a week.
i have a 1)leg/tricep/shoulder 2)chest/bicep/back/ab day.
Thats my basic.
Maybe i can substitute bench for another exercice? I already do pec deck as my second exercice for chest (wih is no prob, bench kinds weak because of triceps/shouldrrs).
I want to keep this for a little while. Not long like i said. So would you just say if i have problems i do each once a week> although 4 times a week workout would be beter imo.Negged by BPP!

Dude here is what you should do
Monday- Chest
Tuesday- Back
Wednesday-Shoulders
Thursday-Arms and Abs
Friday- Legs and Calves
NOW YOU WON'T BE OVER TRAINING!
While not ideal to workout 5 days in a row, this works....I do something similar to this while in college so as to take weekends off but I try and do major muscle groups twice a week....
tris the day after heavy chest day could lead to overtraining, yes
