    good answer, dave. anyhow, in terms of precontest prep, it all depends on your bodyfat percent and your experience

    train your ass off year round. dieting length all depends on how lean you are when you start. I stay pretty lean in the offseason so 12 weeks is good for me.

    just my opinion but i think bf% are overrated i mean you can be 5% but if you still look somewhat smooth you arent going to do as well...the judges dont know what % you are or probably care...i think about 12 weeks is about right if you really work your ass off in that time period
