ive only been workin out for a while, but ill tell you, im addicted, i get really pissed when i break a cycle and now i plan almost everything around my going to the gym. i learned some stuff about addictions and realized i was hooked.
when i workout i get a MAD endorphin rush, especially on my back day and legs as well. endorphins are a natural opiate. they can make severe pain tolerable and create a sense of euphoria. when your brain cells get a taste of em enough, they'll ask for more as if you were on heroine or morphine (not as strong of an addiction, hehe) you'll suffer a small withdrawl. this creates a minor addiction, i dont think its a bad thing tho

yes yes , good addiction to have.
lol I'm an addict at heart.. Before I was an Internet / multiplayer-game addict would stay on for like 10 hours a day was a fat weak piece of crap, now surely enough I'm addicted to bodybuilding..
But I'll tell you this; My parents are quite glad this is what I "decided" to become addicted to, lol.
My father is always cheering me on hahah finally something we can all agree upon...

Bump on GMav!
I used to play Half Life Deathmatch all day long! (****, I still play alot) But then I got into bodybuilding and stopped for a while.
Two weeks ago I couldn't find my student id to get into the gym. I was so angry! I tore apart my room looking for it like a drug addict looking for a bag of coke.
I'm just afraid of getting too big now. I dont' think I'll be able to stop/tone down my workouts once I get my ideal size."Sometimes you just feel tired, you feel weak. And when you feel weak you feel like you just wanna give up. But you gotta search within you and try to find that inner strength and just pull that **** out of you and get that motivation to not give up and not be a quitter no matter how bad you just wanna fall flat on your face and collapse." - Eminem

I definitely agree with you about the endorphins. One day at the gym I was stretching near the squat rack, but the bar wasn't there. After stretching for a few moments longer, I stand up, just to realize that someone had put the bar back in its place and I whacked my head HARD! The next day it had a bump, but I couldn't even feel it when I first hit my head. Definitely is a painkiller.
BTW, my mom goes crazy when I tell her I almost puke from doing squats. "You should never do that! You'll only hurt yourself!" Sure it might hurt my legs two days later, but then the next legs day, I can squat even more weight. Either train with intensity or stay at home eating chips and watching your ass get bigger.

"I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain."
