First, I do not see any problem eating your last meal at 11 if you go to bed at midnight. I would try and make sure that it is not a very large meal, low in fat and carbs, but high in protein. A scoop of protein powder in 8 oz of skim milk, for instance is not a bad choice.
If this is a problem for you, you can follow the same parameters as above, but have it at 10 PM. As long as the meal that precedes it is not too high in cals, you should be okay.

Well just to be contradictory, I'm with the Pastor. I often eat within an hour of going to bed. I suppose I don't do it on purpose as such, its just a matter of available eating time, but its never caused me a problem that I'm aware of
Regardless of when my last meal is, I'm always starving when I get up in the morningBrian! Who are all those people outside?
I don't know mother, they just .... popped by.
Popped by?! Swarmed by more like!

I've been trying to bulk and attempting to get in as many as 8 meals a day....very hard. But what I do like to do is just before bed I have a cup of fat-free cottage cheese. Also if I get up in the middle of the night I try to have a quick meal which could be the cottage cheese.
I also will try a bowl of bran cereal with milk for a change from the CC.*More than just Muscle*

even when cutting I eat right before bed and first thing when I wake.
if you are trying to build muscle I know opeople who wake up at 3am just to add a meal then go back to sleep. remember your body is in fasting mode when asleep. its best to have some sort of slow digesting protien before bed to keep the body working and building muscle and burnning fat.Its not the size of the dog in the fight,
it's the size of the fight in the dog.

Many times my last meal is 1/2 hour (or so) before going to bed.
As long as I am not on a low fat diet (like on a contest prep diet), I'll have a meal of protein and fat. Cottage cheese IMO is an excellent choice. Contains slower digesting protein and some fat to get your through the night so I don't wake up in a totally fasted state.
Eating 3 hours before bed IMO would only allow most of us to only get 5 meals in tops. My last cut I was eating 6-7 meals a day.
