Windows Media Player help

Looking for some help here... about 2 days ago my WMP just crapped out and wouldnt even open up. I re-installed it and now anytime i start my computer it automatically opens up (it never did before) and whenever i click on a link to watch a video clip it gives me the 0xC00D1197: Cannot play the file error. This only happens when the actual player opens up, i can still watch streaming video if its part of the web browser and i can watch a video on WMP if the file is already saved on my computer. Anybody follow me? I hate computers, and Bill Gates sucks.

BTW, i have run adaware as well as run a Virus scan but my computer came up clean.

Thanks to anyone that might be able to help.

Could be you don't have the codec for the file. Try goign to microsoft.com and search for codecs there. If that doesn't work try uninstalling and reinstalling WMP again.
