bar on shoulder hurts
i was wondering if anybody while doing squats or any other exercises w/ a bar on your shoulders thinks it makes your shoulders hurts. i don't squat, partly because when i put the bars on my bony shoulders, it hurts. does anybody else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Try putting the bar lower on your back. Build up your traps and rear delts, that makes a nice little shelf to tuck the bar on.

When I first started squatting, I had this problem. Then I learned to rest it on my traps instead, and have been great since then. Give it a try with just the bar alone to find that perfect spot for you.

if you're talking about the bar causing your shoulder to ache, then try what crawford said ^^^^
if you're talking about it rubbing/scratching the skin then, man up and grow a pair.

It takes time to get used to. If it's still bothering you after some time, use a towel or foam pad as a buffer.

Yeah, growing a pair helped me. I never used to squat, it was uncomfortable. Old school football coaches don't like to hear that lol.

yeah, just suck it up and keep getting bigger, lol. eventually you won't have that problem. you may have to experiment a little, too, with placement of the bar for maximum comfort.
if you really felt it was necessary, you could buy a manta ray. I have one, though I don't use it anymore. I loved it for a long time, but after a while I decided it was time to man up and squat for real, lol. I'm not gonna lie, though, they really make squats a lot more tolerable.

yeah you can get some redness if you wear a tank... but it goes away quickly. grow some traps and you won't have a problem!
