    Progress (warning: pics)

    Why am I doing this?? Because I'm a moron. In any case, I started my program on the 16th December 2003. That's the day I gave up smoking, started running (again) and lifting weights. I weighed in at 259 lbs. This is now four months later. I'm still fat as hell, but I've made a bit of progress. Damn, I wish it was faster. Any advice, comments, even criticism welcome. (Fatty warning!)

    Thanks everyone. As to diet etc. I weigh 221 lbs now. I haven't got a clue what my body fat percentage is. I estimate it was about 38 and now it's about 30 or thereabouts? I use the Max-OT program (5 day split). Running for 5 miles, 3 times a week, cycling for 1 hour about 3 times a week (recreationally, but still fairly intense effort). And don't knock it, but I walk my dog for about 2 miles every day (it's good fun for him and me ). I seriously reckon that I need to stay active as much as possible so I try to walk everywhere, take the stairs, etc. I conciously try to exert myself all day long. Diet is probably a bit of whack. I probably have a 60/35/5 diet with the first being protein. In the beginning I was super strict. I slipped somewhat and tend to allow myself a bit of "unhealthy" food here and there. I eat absolutely no junk food as a matter of principle though. I don't eat a lot but eat six times a day. I've actually often wondered whether I'm eating a bit too little. On average about 2000 calories a day. My biggest bother is all my lard seems to have gathered around my middle section. It's like the one place I've seen almost no improvement.

    hehe. I actually was missing it a bit too much, so built myself a lekker brick braai in my garden. Summer/Spring is just starting in the UK, so we get the occasional sunny day....Then I am out there with my braai And the only place to get boerie is at the specialist shops....costs about £30/kg (over R300 a kg!) So when I do have it, it is like a delicacy! Also I am in the process of building myself a biltong machine for my garden shed, gonna make me some 'tong! (also as expensive as hell here!!)
