I'm ace certified. I would go that route. Depends on where you're looking at traning clients. Some gyms only accept ACE. I also have a major in Kinesiology, a minor in nutrition and in teaching, so that helps as well. I did have to take the ISSA cert because the gym where I was at required both ACE and ISSA. I'm not sure why though, I was ACE cert before the ISSA, and the ISSA cert was a piece of cake. good luck though.

I'm nearly finished with my ISSA certification, too. I'm doing the independent study, and I only have half of my test left and I'll be a certified trainer!
To the OP: The ISSA is one of the most recognized and accliamed certifications out there. It's definitely a good one to have, though it's not the best. Honestly though, the course is a joke. If you really wanted you could get certified in less than a week.

Awesome, I plan on getting certified for multiple things since college doesn't seem to be cutting it for me and I've always have worked hard and been in shape. During high school I was thinking about becoming a personal trainer and I was unaware of that all you needed was a certification. That and I lost track of my goals for a while, but I saw you can get certified to become a nutritionist as well. Which may be another goal after I achieve personal trainer.
