With the recent threads popping up everywhere like " Can I take creatine" or can I take XXXXX im leaving for ( insert branch of service here). I decided to post this thread in hopes I can cut down on these questions. Im not a know all, Im only speaking from experience, research and hear say from seniority. This is not a tell all guide but it should help ease any crazy clutter on the board.
First thing first, This is a quote from another board and is not my own writing This is a partial quote detailing Ph / As and supp use. I didnt include the Illegal drugs because if ur using them then your wrong either way and I dont want to contribute to that.
As of January 2005 the following list is updated and what I recieved from My base. This information is hanging on all the boards in my Base gym
The law adds 26 new steroid compounds, including many steroid precursors, to the previous list of substances that are legally defined as ?anabolic steroids.? [The new compounds are androstanediol; androstanedione; androstenediol; androstenedione; bolasterone; calusterone; *1-dihydrotestosterone (a.k.a. ?1-testosterone?); furazabol; 13b-ethyl-17a-hydroxygon-4-en-3-one; 4-hydroxytestosterone; 4-hydroxy-19-nortestosterone; mestanolone; 17a-methyl-3b,17b-dihydroxy-5a-androstane; 17a-methyl-3a,17b-dihydroxy-5a-androstane; 17a-methyl-3b,17b-dihydroxyandrost-4-ene; 17a-methyl-4-hydroxynandrolone; methyldienolone; methyltrienolone; 17a-methyl-*1-dihydrotestosterone (a.k.a. ?17-a-methyl-1-testosterone?); norandrostenediol; norandrostenedione; norbolethone; norclostebol; normethandrolone; stenbolone; and tetrahydrogestrinone.] Some of these new substances have been widely marketed as dietary supplements, such as androstenedione, norandrostenedione, norandrostenediol, 1-testosterone, and 4-hydroxytestosterone. bolasterone, calusterone, furazabol, and stenbolone, tetrahydrogestrinone (THG).
Those are the bad boy list. As you will see noted above, Its been stated before that steroid test are very very expensive. I know the airforce has over 300,000 members and even testing 30,000 a month for steroids will cause the DoD to go debunk. That is just one branch, so with that being said the probable cause issue then comes into play. If johnny is 145lb and 2 months later Johnny is 205lbs he is gonna catch some flak and will prob be tested. This isnt listed for you to say " Ok im gonna do steroids and as long as I keep myself undercontrol ill never get caught" because you will get caught with tat attitude. Possessing them, buying them and taking htem are illegal. Dont play with fire. Getting tossed out of the military with a Dishonorable will make it tough to get a job even at mcdonalds.
I personally have been tested while I was taking Jungle warfare, BAM and restore stack. I was also tested during a random urinalysis on MassFX and Hyperdrol. During that time frame Venom and various keep me awake supps were also in my system. As a safe rule of thumb if you can buy it at GNC on base then your fine ( every military base of any branch has a GNC it really sucks but we get alot of discounts)
SO check your labels compare it, before you go asking anymore crazy questions about lipo 6 creatine or ON whey. If anyone else has anything to add that is beneficial please do
Id love to get this a sticky if possible

Good stuff, OB. I know I got tested 4 times in the same year ('99) because I was suspected of juicing. I had gained like 25 pounds in a year and a half because I started lifting. I consented to all 4 tests b/c I knew I was clean. But in a nutshell, you're definitely right. If you mess with anything illegal or questionable in the military, you're playing with fire.

Hey OB, good info. What about the random drug screenings? Back when I was in, these could pop up at anytime. (especially those with Secret or Higher level clearances). Back then, it was for drug use, but what if they wanted to test for AAS? I mean, they didin't have to have probable cause for drug testing then, what's different now? You are the property of the Gov't, plain and simple and they can test you at anytime they choose. correct?

I used to be a UPL when I was in. This is some updated info. from a friend of mine.
PROCEDURES FOR COMMANDERS TO REQUEST TESTING FOR ANABOLIC STEROIDS
When a Commander suspects an individual of using anabolic steroids, he/she must consult with the staff judge advocate. Steroid testing may be requested on individuals for probable cause (PO) ONLY; random testing or unit sweeps will not be accepted.

A little clarification for those wondering...........................
The Steroid Control Act of 2004, lists those prohormones, prosteroids, and AAS that the U.S.Army has banned and deemed illegal. That was its purpose of inclusion in this thread. Anyhow, your Commander can add to, but not detract from this list. Meaning he can state that you can't take something not already included(SD)and prosecute you for violating his order if you do so. He cannot, however, decide that its okay for his troops to use begin using Dianabol and fail to prosecute them for it, b/c he feels its was unfairly included.

Based on what I was told all applies from my first post. I know the airforce has now implemented what is called
"smart testing"
everything is still random via ss number but age and rank come into play as well. Its common now to see e-4 and below 0-2 and below aged 25 yrs and younger be popped for random testing more so then higher older ranking people just due to the sheer probability that these make up most of the failed tests.
like ive stated ive been random tested 3 times in the last yr coincedently I was on Jw and Bam stack as well as a mass fx hyperdrol stack in 06
my only other previous test was 2 yrs ago on m1t of course at the time m1t was legal and the above compounds were legal,
ill be dead honest with you, i havent met anyone who even knows of anyone who has been busted for failing a roid test. we all know or know someone who busted for hard drugs and you hear about it all the time but its rare to hear of anything involving roids.

excellent info, OB!!!
with regards to your last post (quoted above), I always wondered about all the "hype" about roid testing in the army. I mean, roids make soldiers more powerfull and aggressive, and aren't exactely these things that can potentially help to survive in a combat? I guess that the army is not unhappy when their soldiers have more power and less anxiety and this is why I guess that roid testing is possibbly not taken too seriously in the army. Or am I way off here?

no your almost dead on,
atleat in my eyes and in many other service members eyes
i wouldnt say that turned thier back on the issue,
the biggest fear when a troop is on drugs is the catastrophic failure it can cause
no pilot wants any maintainers who are high and mentally altered to work on any critical portion of thier aircraft,
base security guys standing guard, if your high you can cause many to die.
its common knowledge that juice is gonna mentally mess you up if u get my drift.
so its a problem if your 135lbs in may and come july 240lbs
but not so much a problem if you 135lbs in may and say 150lbs in july
there are bigger fish to fry when you messed up in the head
but again that is common speculation and obvious not taken as fact
