I mean NOT 8 hours later, I mean like a few minutes after lifting?
I figure HIIT would drain you like crazy, but it seems some people still suggest regular cardio after lifting:

Is it possible to do this if you want to lose fat--or is it just too risky? (Like catabolism of muscle or anything?)
[Thanks for closing my other thread, derekmac. Really, I appreciate that. Not.]

So is it possible to do cardio and weight-lifting on the same day?

It's skechy, I'm still experimenting with it.
I will say though that on Wednesday I had an hour and a half rugby practice, and then went and deadlifted 20 lbs more then I had ever done before at my gym workout, as well as curling more. So, I think it's different for different people as well as based on diet.
Regardless though, I have to say that I honestly noticed that the more protien consumed the less catabolism I found occured. Also, the workout being done after the cardio also has less of a catabolic effect, at least in my opinion.

I've played basketball right after lifting and I did fine, still grew, but I would definately recomend eating after lifting, before the cardio.
This board tends to be anti-cardio so don't buy into everything.Kill one man and you are a murderer. Kill a million and you are a conquerer. Kill them all and you are God
If you train hard, you'll not only be hard, you'll be hard to beat.
