Struggling to get results - need some help overcoming mental barriers

Hi all

Firstly I know this is probably not the best place to post it but also couldn't find any other section that woulod cover this.

I had my first attempt at getting my body for life starting in Feb this year, but with one thing or another the last few weeks have trailed off so I started again last week but am now finding it hard to get the mental focus I need to hit those when it comes to my upper body. I have tried taking the weight down and repping slower but this doesn't really seem to have any benefit as I find myself getting through 12 reps and then sticking the weight up and having to add on another set at the end. My legs I find really easy to train and am actually thinking about holding back on some of the weight when training them so that my upper body can catch up. The cardio side I have found ok until my Gym replaced all their bikes and no I find them uncomfortable so go out for a run instead. I am also running every night, just before my evening meal, trying to alternate a 4.5k and 6.7k route with respect to my cardio days.

Can you guys reconmend anything that will help me achieve the mental focus that is dwindling. I am pretty much game to try anything to get the results as I initially set a goal of end of June to be looking really good, as this is my annual holiday with all my friends at a music festival and they are all behind me, but would certainly share in my disapointment if I haven't atleast got half way through my goal.

My inital goal was to reduce BF from 24.1 at 84.5 kg/ 186 lbs TO 13-14% at 75 kg / 165 lbs. I had a body stat result a week ago and the results were that I was now 23% at 80.5 kg / 177 lbs, which means I've lost lean mass as well.

Any help / guidance / tips will be gratefully recieved.

No mates to compete against?
You'll have to compete against yourself.
Keep doing your full body workouts, but pick one area where you want to see serious improvement. Let's say arms...everytime you work them, go all out.
Set a goal to add at least an inch to your arms in 3 months. That's attainable. Then, even if you feel like skipping a workut, tell yourself, if I do nothing else, I gotta do arms, even if it's only ten minutes!
This will make sure you have soemthing to show for your time and alos will keep you in a better habit.

As far as losing lean mass...eat more protein and run a little less.
