    2100-2200 calories enough?

Im currently 6'1 188 @ 12% and I would like to cut to about 6-8%. I took my bodyweight times 11-12 and my calories fall around 2100-2200. Is this too few calories to cut with? I currently lift weights M-F and do an hour of slow cardio on MWF and Sat mornings. What do you think?

My post workout nutrition should always stay the same with a cut too right...usually 40 grams of dextrose and 40 grams of whey?

    My diet is basically a 45-35-20 ratio of p, c, f

    Thanks.

start at the amount of calories you are taking now, and slowly move down untill you start losing an acceptable about of weight

and yes, your pre-post workout shouldnt suffer because you are cutting, its still the most important meal(s) dont neglect it!

i think he means the current amount before he found his new cutting calorie level. I agree, start knocking off about 200 a week till you start losing about 1-2lbs a week, then you'll be on your way.

well you dont wanna suddenly drop X amount of calories, it will shock your body too much, just take how many cal's you are eating now, and move it down slowly, like 200-300cal's a week, untill you start losing a good amount of weight

so if you are taking 3000 now, you may wanna move to 2800, week later 2600, then 2400 and so on....

Do you think those numbers are pretty accurate, ie:

    cutting - bw x 10-12
    maintaining - bw x 13-15
    bulking - bw x 16-20

You just have to experiment. There are dozens of "Rules of Thumb" when it comes to cutting, maintanence, and bulking but the one only person who can tell you exactly what you need is you with a mirror.

For example, I have a metabolism like a sloth so I bulk at 2200-2500 calories and cut at 1500-1800 calories. Its just the way my body works (I'm 5'10" and 225).

    That's my advice, good luck!
Bad things happen when someone starts a conversation with:

    1) Hey, watch this! -or-
    2) It says flammable, but I ain't so sure! -or-
    3) Dangerous Schangerous... -or-
    4) Just a little faster, just a little more sideways! -or-
    5) Do you smell that?

Johnny boy, so you are hitting up a little cut session huh? well best of luck with it. Generally when I had cut in the past, it was merely a quick reduction in calories for a couple weeks, then the results came. I would think if you slightly reduce your cals, and keep evey thing else the same you will get the results you are loking for, I would definately take it slow though bro, as no muscle waste is a must. How are things rolling bro? Man I have been getting awesome lifts, it feels good to be back to normal. Take care bro........J
