Gained 24 lbs: Time To Cut For Summer

Not sure how many of you guys remember my last Destroying Fat thread but for those that do here is my bulking update.

I started Bulking on Nov 13 this last year so I've been bulking for about 4 months and change.

At the end of my last cut i was @ 145 lbs. Currently I am hovering between 168-170 lbs.

I'll add more info if anyone wants to know anything else.

Back Shot: one of my main goals was to put on some size of course but to bring up my biceps and back. Not going as well as i want but still improvements add up

you def put on a lotta size, and very little fat. good job clean bulking!

i would clean bulk for another month since you'll still have plenty of time to cut for summer and you obviously know what you're doing

you're bis, tris, chest, quads, and back all look great

you're calves are a little lagging, but no biggy

Thanks for the feedback, my calves won't grow for anything :P I guess I gotta up that on my priority list. Did put on about a third of an inch but that will probably be lost during the cut.

Looks like a very effective bulk you did. Of those 24 lbs., only 5 or 10 lbs. were fat, i bet. Thanks for the inspiration!

I have no real estimate on how much I plan to lose. I am guessing I will have to lose close to 12-14 lbs, including water weight.

Last time i cut, i did a massive amount of cardio along with fairly low calories. This time around I plan to eat more calories and only add in cardio when I feel the need.

So I'll probably consume around 12-13x bodyweight in calories and go with that.

Don't want to lose muscle/strength this time around.

i remember your fat loss thread, you did a damn good job while cutting, and it seems you did also very well in you bulk! What was you BF before you bulk and what is it now? I am in my first bulk righ now and gained about 8 lbs in 2 months, but i really don't like the feeling of having more fat on me and also the water retention stuff... i am still lower than 11.5% BF but i enjoy being 9%BF a whole lot more.

I totally agree with you. This year, I've done zero cardio and just paid much closer attention to my diet. I'm leaning up better than in the past and my strength is actually increasing every week, a far cry from last year. I think you'll like the results. Plus, I hate doing cardio anyway so its double the benefit.

I figured I would have 4-5 lbs of water weight. So I guess a better estimate would be around 7-10ish lbs of fat to lose. Hopefully less.

I have detailed logs from my last cut, including daily pictures and frequent measurements so hopefully i can use that to my advantage this time around and not over do the lean muscle loss.

I believe my bodyfat got down to around 8-10 percent during my last cut and I am probably up to around 12-14 percent now. I have calipers but they are so innacurate that i just go by feel and pictures.

outstanding!! what did you bulking routine look like? Sets,reps. exercises?Also did you measure your bi's chest before you bulked to see how much you put on afterwards?

Very lean bulk bro. Nice thickness everywhere...Yes your back and bi's need a good kick in the ass, but they made good strides during this phase. Keep it up, and I myself also agree that 10-14 pounds and you should be ready to bulk uo again.

Here was my split-

Sat- Chest/Tri/Abs
Sun- Back/Bi
Thu- Legs, Sho

So basically a 3 day a week split but i hit each bodypart very hard each time.

Usually 12-15 sets with rep range varying depending on exercise.

The compound movements such as bench, squat, deadlifts were done with heavy weights and low reps to up strength and the rest were done with a rep range between 8-12 reps.

My arms began at 14.5 inches and are around 15.6 or so now.
So i did have some gain but not too much.

Chest/Lats got a little bigger but i dont have an exact measurement.

dude, great bulk. Looks like your bf% hardly changed. When you cut, just dont go losing that dude, dont cut too low. Id be glad to end a cut at your current bf%, let alone start one.
