    Dip Station

At my dip station I can set the handles to be at a narrower grip and a wider grip. Do these work different parts of the triceps or pecs?

I would think that wider would work your chest more, and closer would work more tris, just my useless opinion.

the bars at my gym are angled like so \_/....wider will work your chest, and a closer grip will work the tris- its not actually the grip that makes the difference -its the positioning of your body...when you learn forward, it works your chest more, and just doing it upright works your tris more.

I am just wondering why I can flip them one way for a narrower grip, and another for a wider grip.

Joe I think that's to allow the fatter people to use that machine too.. it's one of those ones that applied an upward force underneath you, isn't it?

I'm sure it activates slightly different parts of your muscles, although I'm not sure. Probably won't make a huge difference, although you could try one for three weeks and then the other for three weeks and see which one is better.
