    right shoulder sprain

while bench pressing. 4 x-rays taken to rule out any tears and surgery. how long should i avoid the gym. it's been 2 weeks now. it still pops every now and then, but no more pain really.

Take off until you feel ready, then start out very light. I injuried my pec two years ago( was out 6 weeks), and my right shoulder in the bicep groove, while working (almost a year and a half ago).. to this day I have trouble with both. Just the other day I had gotten back up to benching 225 for reps (about a months worth) when I felt pain in my left pec.. Ill start back with light to middle weight dumbbells in the coming week to warm up and start some therapy. Wet Heat helps if their is no swelling, remember, be safe not sorry. I look at it as Id rather be able to only bench 150lbs, then not be able to bench at all... hope this helps.
