    Newbie questions about competitions

Hey, I'm a newbie. Just wanted to introduce myself and see if anyone can help with a few questions. I went to my first body building competion two weeks ago to be sure this is something I want to do and I must say--I'm hooked.

I hate to sound so petty but my main thought after leaving the competition was this: how will I ever feel comfortable in a two piece on stage? Body fat is not an issue--I'm 5'3 and 114 but I do have stretch marks from having two pregnancy, one a twin pregnancy within 16 months of each other. I also have that wonderful c section over hang (two c sections).

How did you get over this? Not one woman out of the 60 that competed had a freaking stretch mark that was visible?

Is plastic surgery even talked about in the body building world when people discuss women that are competing that have stretched stomachs? My gym only has male body builders so I really have no one to even ask. When I flex my abs, I get so frustrated b/c the extra skin doesn't allow much definition.

Any help on the subject is appreciated. Thank you!

I believe there was a post around here somewhere about getting that fixed. It's ok to do that.

I've read that tanning products make the stretch marks much less noticable.

    Thx for your reply.

I tried tanning stuff but to no hope. It looked like "reflectors" LOL

I'll search the old posts and see what I come up with. Thanks again!

Have you tried the competition tanning products? Lots of competitors have them and they are not as noticeable when you are on stage and tanned up, you can only see them if you look up close. And yes, many competitors have had plastic surgery. However, sometimes with a clean diet for a long time, your skin will get tighter (although only to some extent, genetics plays a role here). Do not let stretch marks stop you from competing, it is a very rewarding thing to do!
