I always eat whole food as opposed to protein powder or an MRP when possible as long as that food fits into the diet plan that I have for myself. However for my last meal of the day you think a meal of whole food is better to eat before bed or do you think just a plain protein shake would be better or would a medium-carb hi-protein MRP be the way to go before bedtime? Also I guess I should say that currently I am trying to keep the bodyweight I have by training hard and also trying to lower by bf% by doing cardio on my off days from weights. Do you think this is possible? I am 6'4" 231 so I am pretty happy with my weight but I am about 15-16% bf and am trying to get that down to 11-12% as a goal for myself for starters. Should I just realize I won't be able to keep all my muscle and take the hit on bodyweight to get to 11-12% or do you think what I am trying to do is realistic?

I take I****trix in milk (replaces cottage cheese), and a handful of peanuts (gives you slow-digesting fatty acids and protein). Some times I mix it up and have chicken, sometimes tuna, sometimes eggs/egg whites, and sometimes I even have oatmeal with protein mixed in. But keep in mind one should only do all this when bulking - if you're trying to loose fat, I wouldn't take anything before bed. If you must, take a nice protein blend - I****trix would work fine.

Before bed
Whole food is always better.
Stick with a source of animal protein along with some fats to support hormone production and recovery.
Good choices of foods would be,
- cottage cheese
- almonds/walnuts
- beef
- chicken/turkey/eggs/fish
- avocado
etc.
A portion of veggies on top would be great as well."Strive for perfection,

ok question....how do you guys eat cottage cheese? There are so many gross things that I just eat cause I need it and don't have a problem but for some awkward reason plain cottage cheese just grosses me out so bad I can never get down enough.
You're right, but I doubt any of us eats it alone too often. Personally, I mix mine with canned pineapple. I've heard some mix it with peaches/sugar, etc.Suck it up and push yourself...biotch

Hm... I've always stayed away from fruits and sugars before bed.... is there a good reason why have fruit or even sugar added to your last meal before bedSuck it up and push yourself...biotch

Sometimes I mix a sugar-free ("light") jam with my cottage cheese (no need for real sugars before bed).
Other times I mix a small handful of almonds (this may sound weird, but I think it is tasty).
But I don't really mind the taste of cottage cheese. I don't like it plain, but it doesn't make me gag/cringe or anything.
