Injuries you've had, and what helped them.

I just want to throw this out there...if you like it, take it...if not, throw it back...but...we need a general injury thread.

For example...(this thread was not my idea, saw it on another forum I believe) Please only post if you have something useful to submit...not trying to be an ass, just trying to keep it clean.

-What kind of injury
-How you did it
-Symptoms
-Rehab
-How long it lasted
-What you do now to prevent injuries

I'll start us off.

Injury: Groin strain

How it occured: Hit my leg days hard, without proper warmup. Hack squatting was when I first felt it

How it felt: I would get a pain when pushing back up after any squatting motion. The pain would come and go, and every rep was a surprise whether I had pain or not. The pain was non existant with light weight and a narrow stance. Eventually, I felt the pain while walking

Rehab: After resting the area for a week, I started by doing more lower body stretches. Groin stretches, glute stretches, hip stretches. This make the pain go away from walking on it. After letting it rest for roughly a week, I started doing light hip abduction and adduction machines. I was very weak at first, but I didn't have any pain. Eventually, I was able to build myself up doing 3x10

How long it lasted: After two weeks I was able to start squatting again. This seems like a rare case, luckily my "strain" was not that bad.

Prevention: Plenty of stretching before working lower body, and not forgetting groin work!
