So I'd been really good all week long with my diet - and I decided to reward myself with a milkshake as my weekly cheat meal.
I get into the store (Braum's), and I just sort of took an inventory of who was in the store.
I'd say at least 75% of the customers were obese - some of them extremely obese. Kind of sad, really. What is America doing to itself?
My shake was good, though - chocolate almond.

They're all sitting there thinking "Man I had a really ****ty day at work today, ice cream will make me feel better." or "Hey I got a raise today, let's go have some ice cream!." or "I know I'm trying to lose weight but I ate healthy all week and now I deserve a reward of ice cream."
See the relationship here? They're all using ice cream to fill an emotional need, in other words it's become medication or entertainment.
People don't get obese because they eat too much, they get obese because they deal with their emotions by using food as medication, just like a drunk uses alcohol, a dopehead uses pot, crackhead uses crack, tweaker uses meth, gambler uses a casino, shopaholic uses a store, etc. etc.
Choose your drug, pick your poison, we all have one (or a few).

its not just rewarding yourself with food, its rewarding yourself with something that shouldnt be in your diet. eg your on keto and you want a sandwich so you choose that for your cheat meal. get what i mean, a reward doesnt mean that its something bad it just means that its something you like
