Cuation-sodum levels in hot sauce...

Just a word of advice:

Last night I shot some of Frank's (the generic kind) hot sauce on my omellette and as I was eating, I noticed how salty the hot sauce tasted. I looked at the label, and sure enough, serving size=1 tsp. Sodium=240mg. I could not believe it. You better believe I ate right through it, though. But, now in moderation. Any one know about this, how about Tobasco?

don't worry about it... as long as you are drinking enough water the sodium levels in your hot sauce should not be a concern.

i really don't know why people freak so much about sodium... the people that need to be concerned are the fat lazy inactive general population of america... not the physically fit body builders on this board (IMO).

I am not too personally worried because I down 7 Quarts H20/day, but I was alarmed when i realized that i put this stuff on a majority of my food in large quantities, unbeknownst to me it contained that much sodium.

how much sodium is too muich per day??

I am not certain, but I think anyting in excess of 1500mg/day is overkill if you are watching your intake.

But, this is open for debate.....
