    What muscles do chin-ups work?

I hear they are good for building strength, so I'm going to add them to my back/biceps day. Which muscles do they hit? I think I'll do 3 sets of 6-8reps, that ok?

8 pakman, chin ups work just more than your biceps man. They are a great workout for back day. Hits the lats really good too.

Well i mainly meant its a good exercise for your back, yes your bi's are worked a great deal, but to say that its primary a bicep exercise is lack of knowledge.

It's quite simple actually - most people can do just as many if not more chin-ups than pull-ups, and your back is by far a stronger muscle.

It IS true however, that you can emphasize your biceps on chins moreso than pull-ups if you want to.
    I'm back. For good.

Lats, traps 2/3 &4, rhomboids, teres major, pec major (yes it's not a typo), forarms (to many to list), biceps, posterior delt. I might be missing a few.
