When people go between like 7 different machines and when you try to use one they get all huffy. Or when they decide to leave their weights on the bp bars. Takes me and some other lifter there just to get that stuff off, not very fair. Or when they say they'll spot you and then walk the hell off into god knows where. DUDE, YOU SAID YOU'D SPOT ME!!!!

Today this ****ing guy felt the need to lift weights RIGHT next to me. Theirs 5 benches. I took one at the end. And then he goes right next to me, and he was intefering with me. Like I would go but then I had to wait for him to go, then I would go cuz he was so close.
And then he would like stand up and flex his muscles and do poses and look at himself in the mirror.
I also hate these old guys who feel the need to walk to the shower naked, just leave your boxers on, I dont want to see your old wrinkly ass change in front of me

you are mid set, completely focused and someone wanders over to you and asks if you are using some unrelated equipment behind you and 5 metres away.
"yeah buddy, like after these pull ups I was going to use that 20KG weight underneath a bench that is no where near me. Not to mention I'm kinda in the middle of something right now"

I hate it when
1) When (not just but mainly) teenagers stand next to the DB rack talking about how big they look, and they have a skinny 6-pack (lifting up there top to show off) on there phones and doing the exercise wrong while taking up like 2 benches between them, and spending 15 mins, you get some bad sort at my gym.
2) Females that all the do is cardio to lsoe weight and end up looking like sticks, then complain about it.
3) the fat naked people getting chagned in the changing room, that stay naked for like 10 mins right next to you just bending over and chatting with there naked mates
4) using the mirror in the gym not the changing room to check themselves out.
I've got more but i dont want to punch the wall in anger.

I admit I haven't read through all 40 pages to see if there's been some resolution to this point, but I have to disagree with the dumbbell chuckers. Not only is it really irritating to those around you, it damages the equipment. They may be iron, but they're still deformable. Dropping dumbbells will bend the handles over time, which makes them noticeably awkward to use for certain movements (mostly presses). More importantly, it loosens the ends (especially if they're the bolted type). Try holding a 100 lb DB directly over your face to start a set of pullovers and feeling a ton of movement between the ends and the handle. Tell me that's not disconcerting and dangerous.
In the end, I don't agree that there's any reason to toss the dumbbells upon completing your set. Even when doing heavy DB bench to failure, I've never been unable to bring the weights back into my body and sit up with them. Tossing them is just lazy and inconsiderate.
Also, count me among those who get furious when people can't bring themselves to put things back where they belong.

OMG this one pissed me off. I wanted an adjustabe bench to do incline dumbell presses. But a group of 3 guys doing the same exercise took all 3 adjustable benches in the whole gym. All 3 of them with benches next to each other doing the exercise at different times. THey would just sit at the bench while one of them did their shoulder presses and the next guy would do his while the other 2 sit. It was POINTLESS.

I'm sure something like this has been mentioned already, but I'll put a guy on blast here. At the main gym I go to (the same as in my profile), there's this one fool who feels the need to start a conversation with everyone. He's probably been there longer than me, but I feel like I get more work in than he does, but that's not the problem.
This jerk will take up a piece of equipment- especially something there's only one of- and lag on finshing his sets, because he's busy BSing with the guy next to him. He knows people are waiting to use that piece of equipment but he'll just stand there, lollygagging about crap most folks probably wouldn't be concerned about while working out. I once called him out on it, and thankfully he tries to avoid working out near me.

people who ask you how many sets you have left, then when you let them on the machine they have no idea what they're doing. i don't even know how to explain what this guy was doing on the lat pulldown...sitting in every position imaginable and then just rotating the bar around...after a while he just looked at me, got off and walked away.
some may say i should have helped him, but he could have easily seen me doing it correctly instead of wasting 5 minutes of my time for him to stop dancing around.
fat people who think they're "big". and 99.99% of them have the worst BO imaginable. a friend of a friend was arguing with me that his arms are bigger, when it's just fat. when he flexes it's the same size as it is when it's relaxed. sure, your arms might be bigger in circumference... but the muscle sure as hell isn't.One day your life will flash before your eyes. Make sure it's worth watching

Gazelles LOL.
So glad I quit the big box gym scenario. I some times go just to laugh at people doing the most random **** imaginable. (Ei, post above:classic story)
"I'm walking at 2 mph at 0 incline for 5 hours, but I'm not losing any weight????" *sips on a bottle of coke
The most annoying is when I just get on say cables, guy obviously saw me walk there, set up the grips and change the weight.
"Hey bromanguy, how many sets you got left?"
.."Just all of them?"
"Oh, okay I'll just stand here and breath down your neck"
This will happen at any gym..

Not really that annoying I just find it a giggle, I was a the gym tonight (Saturday night) I'm under 18 so I can't go out and I stopped drinking so I was left to train calves and I saw atleast 10+ guys come in with an under singlet jeans/dress pants and going out shoes doing bicep curls and delt raises thinking to my self .... okay... they then leave the changerooms of the gym in dress shirts with their hair done up and ********* hanging off them...... on a saturday night they've gone to the effort to get a "hektik bicep pump" before clubbing.... isthisreallife.jpg
