i wish someone would open up like a hardcore healthy fast food chain. i have amazing ideas for one i don't know why someone wouldn't just do it. i mean they have millions of mcdonalds/burger king/kfc etc, why can't someone counter with a healthfood chain? is it that hard to have a healthy fast food place? i just don't get certain things.

yeah, they should open a chain of healthy fast food places..it would be great.. protein shake on the go.. protein palace.. or whatever..
too bad our country is oversatuated by so many obese and unhealthy individuals that will turn into any restaurant that ensures you a fat ladden meal over a healthy one...
but, hey.... at least there are MRP in a can now.. it's a step in our benefit

As a business student, i thought about this for a good bit. Reasons i think it would fail would be:
1) In todays fast food market it is nearly impossible to start up a 'brand' name that would be successful. Other brands have been established for way too long.
2) Us healthy eaters become accustom to the price of food. For example we know a chicken breast costs a certain amount of money. Or a protein shake costs pennies. Fastfood chains exsist because they can mark up there products dramatically. Thier foods are also unique and more complex then health foods so its harder to put a price on it. Or in some cases, we know we are overpaying (subway) but we eat it anways because 5 dollars isn't that much.
However with that said i think it is VERY probable that success can be achieved with enough capital. Having a ton of money to begin with helps alot and without this, resources needed for marketing, raw materials bla bla cant be attained.
If I ever get rich i still wanna do it. Even if i only break even i'll know that at least some consumers are health conscienceLast edited by buttaflap; 03-07-2004 at 05:08 PM.

ive thought about this for a long time. on and off.. but basically, it should be started up in large markets, where your less likely to fail... also it would take a great deal of investigative work and research but it could be done.. it would also take the right approach etc.. hopefully you'll be seeing my health fast food chains soon :-)

it wouldnt work, sadly, most people are fat lazy slobs who really dont care about healthy foods... to most, a diet coke with there big mac and super size fries is eating healthy.
