    Tuna and Soy

    Hello to all,

I've been having a problem finding a canned tuna I can eat. I have a few food allergies, thankfully tuna is not one of them. BUT...soy is, and if you look on the back of most tuna can labels you will see that the ingredients usually list "vegetable broth". I did some calling around and found that this broth almost always contains soy.

Basically, I need to find canned tuna that contains ONLY tuna and water....nothing else. The only luck I have had is starkist chunk light tuna in water, low sodium. But the problem is that stuff is like 2 bucks a can. It's because of the "low sodium".

Can anyone point me to a manufactuer that has something similar for a reasonable price?

Nothing wrong with sodium. But for some reason the low sodium has no vegetable broth while the regular tuna in water does. I can't figure it out.

It doesn't matter too much. Just get tuna in water and you'll be fine. Nothing to worry about.

Why are you worried about sodium in tuna...?

Don't you guys open the can then dump it in a strainer and drown it with water?

With this method you get 2 outcomes
-You lose about 50% of the nasty taste/smell
-You lose 80% (estimate) of the sodium
