I just finished doing some ez bar curls. My right wrist has a bone petruding out more than normally, and its located in the middle. It only shows when i bend my wrist palm down.
Also, when i put pressure on my inner forearm bone(?), it hurts a little bit. Other than that, i don't feel any pain at all.
Is their something to worry about, Did i pop it out of place or should i just rest for a while?

when my wrist gets soar after the day i bench, it really hurts to bend my wrist back as far as it needs to to do pushups yes
I noticed before I actually started doing gym and benching, My flexibility was a lot greater in my wrist, I could pushups no problem. I think when lifting weights you lose flexibility in your forearm, therefore cannot bend your wrist back. I have to get back to stretching.

I think I have the same wrist bone thing going on since I injured my wrist several years ago. It doesn't usually hurt, but the range of motion is affected slightly, and it looks pretty bad - the bone really juts out and I can actually move it around a little. Occasionally it does get a little sore when I put it under lots of stress (like wrist curls).
I recently tried to do look into what it could be (by myself - I've never spoken to a doctor about it), and it seems to me that it's probably due to atrophy of the soft tissue around the carpal bone in that area of the wrist. The lack of "padding" around the bone making it seem to (or actually) jut out.
I don't think it's just on account of "being skinny," because it's only on one wrist, and it followed a definite injury (which hurt at the time)
If anyone knows anything about this, I'd be really interested to hear any opinions.
it's only visible on my right wrist, my left looks normal.
my wrist doesnt hurt but my forearm muscle or bone hurts when i apply pressure to it. i am pretty skinny but it definately looks out of place when i compare the two hands.

It could be a ganglion. I had one that formed on the back of my right wrist and caused me pain occasionally (depending on what I was doing). To be sure you'd have to go see a doctor and get an ultrasound on your wrist. The good news is that you can sometimes get rid of them.
Just called my Dr about it, said it most likely is the Ganglion cyct, but no big deal. Most never turn into anything and in rare occasions it gets so big where it has to be removed. Nothing to worry about
Yeah mine is hard - I always thought it was the bone, but I guess it could one these ganglion things. I read the wikipedia thing and it does sound kind of like that, although the picture is slightly different - mine definitely seems to have a kind of "hollow" around the bump, like, as I said, the tissue surrounding the jint has atrophied. But then that would fit withg this (from the wikipedia article):
"...they are thought to be due to a degeneration of the fibrous tissue surrounding joints leading to a cystic structure...."
Mine is hard and smaller than the one in the wikipedia picture. I always thought it was a bone until I got it checked out. The easiest treatment is getting a cortisone shot directly in the ganglion to break it up. It doesn't always work but it only takes 30 seconds so I'd say it's worth a try.
I had a cyst on my right wrist too. One day I just slammed my wrist on a table to bust the cyst. With in a few minutes, it was a fraction of its original size. I did this about a week ago and I can barely see where it used to be now. I've read that they can come back though.

I know it's a bit after the fact, but just in case this might help someone:
After I found out about ganglion cysts (thanks to Blehish), I was reading up about them, and I read something that said if you massage them regularly it could reduce the size.
I was a bit shy about trying to smash the one on my wrist like Riseboi did, and most articles advised against that, but since finding out that it was probably a cyst, and not a bone, I had become a bit preoccupied with it and so I tried the massage technique.
I kind of formed a habit of pressing it and massaging it with my thumb all day while at work ? actually pushing it pretty hard. In the back of my mind I was kind of hoping it would burst as if I had smashed it.
Well, I don?t think it burst, but two weeks later it is considerably smaller, and the wrist feels generally better, more range of movement. So that kind of worked.
Just thought I'd mention it in case anyone else wanted to give it a try?.
are these the types of bumps you are talking about? I have one on each wrist, I have had them for most of my life.

Perhaps I am being too reactionary and, if so, please forgive me. However, if I see anything strange sticking out of my body that I don't already know functions this way I would just go to the doctor. Better safe than sorry.
Okay I'm super late to this thread but I have found this site on google searching about this kinda thing, I have the same problem on my wrist and its been for years there, and its located right in the middle....Is there a way you can make this bump dissapear without having to have surgery? Never went to the doctor and asked for it.
I had one and I got it to go away by massaging and avoiding certain grips where you pull in the direction of the back of your hand (no more upright rows or pull-ups with palm facing away from you).
Ok, I know I'm late, but please help me. I don't think I have that ganglion cyst, I can feel that it is a bone, a little sharpish but a bone. 99% sure. Here is the picture, it is right in the middle of the wrist. I have my bandage for a week but nothing changes...also I use some sports gel for pain in wrist and reuma...please what should I do? ://
I think i have the same problem but im not convinced it is a cyst as it isnt really rounded but sharp at one edge with a hollow space just abit under it. my wrist is really painful when i bend it and constantly aches and clicks/cracks. i have had lots of doctor appointments about it and im now getting referred to a specialist to check it out but the doctor thinks i have hypermobility anyway. i'll let you know how it turns out so i'll post again on November 28th
I had the same thing. Thought it was the bone sticking out but after reading this thread I was open to the idea it was a cyst, even though it was pretty hard and didn't feel like one. Anyway, I started massaging and pressing it regularly and indeed it reduced in size after a few days. Then, I did a handstand at a crossfit class (first time), my wrist hurt and I had to stop after just a few seconds but then I noticed the bump is gone! I think the handstand position of the wrist burst the cyst. It kept hurting a bit for an hour and then the pain reduced significantly. The next day I could hardly feel any pain. It's been over a week and the wrist is still normal - no recurrence of the bump.
