    Question 48 Years Old (help)

Hello guys wanna need help for my mom.She lost 28 kilograms in 5 months with a nice diet and walking in the mornings. And she now asks me how to get fit , you know just losing weight without eating does not make us fit, we need exercises to tranform. What should she do as she is 48? How can she make body fit?

Thanks , its an important question by the way, trying to help her for weeks..

"Fit" is a relative term, it doesn't really mean anything on its own. If she just wants to improve her "general fitness", most people mean their cardiovascular performance, any kind of cardio will do. Avoid running as its really not great on the body, but walking, swimming, cycling etc. Its also never too late to start lifting weights. Being 48 isn't really a limiting factor.

It kinda depends on where she is. If she sees weightlifting as completely foreign, see if you can ease her into some group fitness classes that incorporate some basic resistance training. This is a popular one here in Canada for example: http://www.goodlifefitness.com/fitne.../bodypump.aspx.

Something that like that is a nice easy intro and she can then see if she wants to get more serious about it later.
