Does GPA reset if you transfer to university from community college?

Let's say your in community college with a gpa of 3.00. If you transfer to a university, will your gpa still stand at 3.00? This meaning, all your courses that are worth transfer credit have a combined gpa of 3.00.

It depends on what school, if its for a California state university, like in my case, it does not reset, however for a lot of private schools it does.. I think in general if its a public institution it does not reset while if its a private school it does.

It reset for me when I transferred to a private school. Just make sure you get as many credits as possible to transfer.

Correct public (state) schools usually form an agreement with cc to accept their credits unchanged. In Florida, an AA from a community college is accepted directly to a state school as if you had attended that university from the start.

However private schools usually have no such rule, and can adapt your credits as they see fit.

I live in Vancouver and went through such a transfer and the answer is no. You will be given Transfer Credit for the courses that transfer over, your letter grades in those courses will be recorded if they directly transfer over,

As you can see some of my courses Transfered over but some recieved a TR, rather than a letter grade. However, none of this counts towards CGPA, it can only be used to fullfill pre-reqs that come with an associated letter grade. Your CGPA will only be made up of courses that you take at the new institution.

For instance My advising Transcript reads:

I believe that anyone can conquer fear by doing the things they fear to do, provided they keep doing them until they get a record of successful experience behind themselves.
