    sore

I couldn't find anybody treating the following question :

What should I eat when I'm sore ? Anything I should try and eat more of ? Anything I should try and avoid ?
(and don't just say "protein",... duhh)

    btw, i'm a vegan.....

being sore really has nothing to do with your meals, but more you're workout

you might want to try and up carbs a bit the day of major muscle workouts (legs + back) and up protein the day after

otherwise make sure you have proper form and if you're still really sore you might be lifting too much weight

DOMS can be decreased with good nutrition . Also stretching the muscle group in between sets and after the workout well decrease doms.

I agree, nutrition seems to play a big part....pre and post w/o nutrition is just as imprtant as the lifting itself. and stretching is a key factor in reducing soreness imo. also, Glutamine haters, stay off this thread, Glutamine should help with soreness. 10g pre w/o and 10 g post w/o.

How strict are you? are you a true vegan?ample preotein is hard to get as a true vegan. I know!

just a personal experience.. After taking glutamine after every workout for a month or two, I stopped taking it altogether. I noticed that I would be extremely sore the following days after working out more so than usual. I now take it again, and in all honesty, I'm no longer sore the following days.. I also take some creatine after since i have a huge tub i got cheap once, and need to get rid of it!

    thanks for your quick replies...

well, i'm not really a bodybuilder. i actually started lifting to get stronger for capoeira, but i like it so much, that i'm giving it some extra attention lately. my prime goal is still to get stronger.

i guess my only sources of protein are soy (tofu, soy protein shakes) and yeast (sometimes i make shakes with soy protein powder and yeast).

anyway, thanks for replying. i think i'll try more carbs. i haven't been eating a lot of carbs lately.

    not exactly

hi LONDONBEAST. so nice of you to join.

i don't know if you meant me by "vegan boy" or MASSIVEVEGAN, but i don't remember saying a vegan diet is better. i don't remember MASSIVEVEGAN saying that either. i just said i'm a vegan.
i'm not a vegan because i think it's healthier. i'm a vegan because i think the situation in modern industrialized farms is one of humanity's biggest crimes, and i don't want to take any pleasure from it.

yeah yeah yeah, call me sissy, gay ("not that there's anything wrong with that"), idiot, naive, i don't care
