    full range of motion

Is it best to go all the way down when doing a bicep concentration curl, or stop short of releasing tension. My boss, a PhD in kinesiology says it is best to go all the way down, but every bodybuilding thing I've read says to maintain constant tension and go down just before you let the weight hang down. This goes for all other exercises, including lat pulldown, etc. Thanks for your help, fellas

My understanding is that you almost always want your muscles to go through their full range of motion for max. results, which is why lots of people like to do dumbell curls on an incline bench.

It is my understanding also that you want full range of motion on all exercises. That way, you lessen the risk of injury (like a bicep tear) If you repeatedly only go partially down the tendons (which protect the muscle) never get fully stretched out. I was just reading about this in the latest edition of Muscle Media-the training guide.
You know your a true motorcyclist when you can make any roadside repair with chewing gum and a piece of discarded wire found along said road.
