I was just reading that WPH is "more readily absorbed than free from amino acids" and produces "the greatest hyperaminoacidaemia, which means a rapid increase in BCAA's." I'm wondering if it would be more beneficial to consume more WPH and less BCAA drinks (ie Xtend, ICE, etc) during workouts.

True, Torrent isn't priced like a commodity... But two things. First, you have to compare the price relative to other PWO supplements--when you do, you'll see Torrent's value for sure. Second, the ingredients in Torrent aren't cheap, especially between the whey hydrolysates and waxy maize.
For what it's worth, BB.com does have Torrent stacked with Animal Pump at a better price: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=902775New & Improved Universal Rep, For Universal

there's merit to useing both. from my experience, i've noticed better performance and recovery from using both, instead of just 1 exclusively.
think about it in terms of another supplement: protein powders.
the greatest benefits tend to come from using a combination of whey and casein as opposed to whey by itself, despite it being far superior (like hydrolized whey).
the same also applies for glutamine. l-glutamine and glutamine peptides for a lot of people seem to work synergistically, and far better than just either on its own, depsite both working.
why not just use both, a combination, and see what works for you? we can debate this all day, but what matters most is actual results. for me and the people that i have known to try a combination, the results were phenomenal.

Depends. With intact proteins (for example, hydrolyzed whey, whey concentrate, whey isolates), you can't manipulate the ratio of individual amino acids or specific aminos included. Free form aminos are fast-acting, and they allow for custom-tailoring an amino formula (for example, EAA supplements). So you have pros and cons for each... Speed vs. customization.
That said, we chose both with Torrent--hydrolyzed whey along with a 8,000mg leucine complex...New & Improved Universal Rep, For Universal
