Unhappy losing motivation

Just when it seems I'm doing well, my mind starts messing w/ me. Some days I think "WHY am I doing all this? Is it really worth it?" It is sooooo hard to stay on track right now. Part of me is like, "I"m here, I did it." and the other says "NOT GOOD ENOUGH, keep going, you're not there yet."
Auuuugggh! (devil and angel on my shoulders) -

That just makes you normal. I've been doing this for more years than I care to mention and I go through those same emotions every time I diet down for a contest.

Just stay focused and remember why you are doing it.

JLE, Girl you have made fantastic progress all most makes a guy want to move back to the frozen North.

On the double front bicep pose, raise the elbows up even with the delts, it will bring out the bi's better.

I agree with MsFit, everyone goes through the "Why" at one time or another. Always keep in mind the goals you set for yourself and always have a goal that covers next month.

thanks everyone - I'm doing better now - looking forward to seeing my husband next Saturday and really surprise him (I hope) he hasn't seen me for 9+ weeks Dropping this last 3-4 BF% is gonna be tough! But I'm training hard.

hi jle, i know this is a very old thread, but these are also your most current pics. here's the thing...

in these pics you look softer and weaker than in any others you have posted.

what amazes me is the way this truth is not reflected at all in the posts people wrote for you on this thread.

i find it is more constructive to tell the truth then to mindlessly spoon out warm fuzzy nonsense.

i am telling you the truth.

whatever you were doing in february jle, it made you soft and weak.

with your strong constitution and great genetics you still look better than 99% of the people out there. your hamstrings seem indestructable. but you could do much MUCH better.

i see you are also still over training, BY A LOT!

this is one of my dreams, that someday jle will get on an efficient, low volume program, crank up the high intensity and.... well... that will be a beautiful day.

...So you're that nagging voice in my head saying - you can do better, you can be better, you haven't done enough...

oh goody - guess what, I'm even softer and weaker now... the last 5 months of regular eating, and reduced training has packed on some pounds and inches.

I'm getting back into a regular, realistic training schedule, as well as getting back to clean eating. My battle is mental, I swing back and forth from - is this worth it? to - Yes, I can do it. My thoughts are a constant ying-yang of pessimistic and optimistic self-talk.

I had similar thoughts when I first started to learn how to eat right and the fitness thing. I was 212 at 5'7'' at that time I had a 34-36 waist depending and looked fat. I decided to do what you ar doing and lost the weight from 99-01. I got down to 158 and then eased to 165 and decided to compete geting down to 148 at about 5%. Now I am 194 but i don't look the same. I am not in contest shape but when times have got tought I knew that if i gained a bit back I could control and always know I can get into condition anytime I want. have cheat day or two and then you will recharge the drive to lean uop and you will do it
