Yes, Cardio will do you a lot of good. Not to be mean. But This is a bodybuilding site. Get yourself into a good routine. I started out with 20 minutes a day. Three days a week. I would switch between stairmaster/bike/elliptical(sp?). And when it's nice out I will run.
Cardio first thing in the morning on an empty stomach will burn the most fat.
I like to drink about a quart of water before bed. When I wake up I will pee for like 5 minutes but then I'm wide awake and hydrated for running.
Good luck, keep us updated.

I know where you're at, I was there a year ago. I'm 20. I weighed 260 and figured I would always be there, but then I got motivated and have made a huge change. I am not at 205 about 8 months after I got serious. I got on a good diet (for me it was low carb) and started lifting 5 days a week and running at least 3. You're at a good age to make a change because you aren't drinking alcohol yet (I assume). Alcohol kills fat loss, that is why I lost all my weight over the summer when I was not drinking. There is a lot of good info on this sight although some of the people are a little harsh if you aren't Mr. Universe... Don't worry about that though, find a good workout routine and eat smart! I am not a genious at this stuff but I have learned a lot and had good results, so if you have any general questions p.m. or e-mail me and I can try to help.
Good Luck!
Eric
Oh yeah, the only thing that sucks is that when I lost all that weight I lost my guns, I had 18 inch arms and I am just now getting to 17.5 again, I got all the way down to 16.5. But now my arms are defined and I would much rather have that.20 years old

Cut, then clean bulk. Your 17 inch arms will be impressive if they're all muscle."No kind of sensation is keener and more active than that of pain; its impressions are unmistakable."
