Gene Therapy breakthrough,move over steroids
Although I cant find the article,I heard this on the AM radio news. Reserchers have used gene therapy on some lab rats and are touting the results as a steroid killer. They said the rats just treated to gene therapy increased muscle mass 30% with no excercise. With excercise their strength doubled. They touted this therapy as undetectable and cannot be tested for as steroids are. One critic claimed this breakthrough has big rammifications on the sports world with all the steroids cases comming out. He claimed gene therapy is a huge step in maximizing human genetics. He gave an example to the strength of a runner on gene therapy. He said take 2 runners in the Boston Marathon. One on gene therapy one natural. He said being on gene therapy is like competing in the marathon wearing roller skates.
Anyone heard this report? oh here is one report

Sounds like a bad idea to me... Why not just inject igf-1 longR3? That way you're not messing with your genes, it's still undetectable and you can get your levels back to normal afterwards.

Its good info but I dont know **** about gene therapy..
If the data can be carried over to humans and just say it works. Take a 200lb lean man/bodybuilder. If you can gain a 30% increase in muscle mass thats almost 70lbs on the before mentioned example. And with excercise your strength doubles? Can you imagine benching 315 before and 600 after? Its unheard of.It says in the articles that coaches and sports trainers are scrambling to get their hands in it. Its a small story but Im sure it will break big in the next week or so.

That's ****in crazy man...
I'd go ape **** if all my hard work, sweat and tears to get to where I am now was all for nothing because some rich punk can just pay for gene therapy without ever touching a weight!

Therock, do you have an Idea waht gene therapy goes for?I think they use it for cancer paitents. But I understand your concerns. But imagine the ramifications, this is almost a super drug, think about it doubling your strength, and gaining 30% plus muscle mass ,that can turn anyone into a superhuman. Its just crazy. It makes steroids look like prohormones

thats a funny thread. gene therapy is experimental only, it will never be used in humans to inhance their appearance. gene therapy will coast a fortune, and maniplation of human genetics is controlled in the US.

Not true. Your calculations are for a 30% increase in TOTAL mass, not muscle mass. A 200 lb. man is not 200 lbs. of muscle. Other than that I'm with TheRock.

Sorry ,but If you read the reports they did say a 30% increase in MUSCLE MASS,so if you are a lean 200 lb bodybuilder, which is what 6% bodyfat? you are going to gain x amount of muscle mass, anyway its far more then steroids. It may be expensive to deal with human genetics, but what experimental drug or science or technology was expensive at first but cheaper as technology was improved. It may be in the near future, dont count it out. Its something that could benifit all in one way or another. Hell steroids was experimental and expensive at one time.

Thats awesome. I've been looking for something like this. They need to come out with more **** that doesnt effect the HPTA. Someone needs to find a way to take pure adrenaline. Imagaine that before a workout. A 1hr adrenaline rush.

I agree, also what about the oops factor. They say its great now and people start taking then ... oops. And your body parts start dropping off cause of some new form of leprocy. Don't mess with ma-nature she'll bite you in the buns
