    Can you deadlift with dumbells?

Just a question, before I get a barbell. All I found on exercises was "stiff-legged deadlift".

Yes, you can, but a barbell would help your form out a lot and make things overall easier for you to do a correct deadlift.

Are you really 3'1"? You can do DL's with dumbbells.... have you tried it before, and if so, what kind of results did you get??

    hey.....

how about that hexagon shaped contaption of a barbell w/olympic sized bar ends which hold approximately 5 45's on each side?they should really increase this to holding 10 45's per side.then we could play with 900 plus lbs instead of being limited to 475-485lbs depending whether this particular contraption is 25 or 35 lbs.
it is however, significantely easier on the spinal lumbar region as well as having the benefits of providing additional leverage advantages over the conventional shin scraping standard olympic barbells.

That would be the trap bar that you're referring to (I think?). It places alot more emphasis on the legs rather than the back though...

    Cool okay.

that means when fully loaded(5 45's on each side)it'd be 525 lbs.i'm gonna do that in my next workout.and i'm gonna wear knee pads cause i'm leary about that thing bashing my knee on the way up.it's just the idea i guess.it'd probably miss it by a couple inches instead of by 4-5 inches when using lighter weight, cause when approaching this weight i will really be squatting all the way down and the bar may swing a little and the contraption may still bump me in the knee.that would suck,so i'm gonna wear knee pads despite the funny looks that i'll be getting.
would rather look funny and be safe than look cool and be injured.
