I dunno if it's true but someone told me that you're supposed to run on the balls of your feet. (I don't sprint cus I was never in sports)

ive done 2 speed camps for football and basically: run with ur arms at a 90 degree angle, the leg thats up is opposite the arm that is in front of you, "chin to pocket" which describes your arm movement (keeping the arms at a 90 angle the whole time)

the only time when you need to have "correct" sprinting form is when youre getting your 40time
when your in your pads and actually playing a game most the technique **** you throw out the window

Run through your butt, activating your glutes and using them to give you a more powerful stride. Serious.

When you run your 40, do it on one breath. You only release air at a couple points in the run (2 or 3 times). Plus what everyone else said

run with dorsiflexion (balls of feet), swing opposite arm then the leg ur striding with, the faster your arms move the faster your legs move
during 40 testing, start off in a low stance, put ur dominant foot back in a sprinters position at about the end of the other foots heel, take your opposite arm then the leg u have back and extend that arm as far back as possible. on the start explode off the line and swing ur arm forward to gain full momentum. run with forward body lean looking down until about 20 - 25 yards then begin to run upright and reach ur terminal velocity. (yes i have had speed training)

i have weak ankles small bones, huge muscles, plus i had ankle surgery too.
I've seen aot of people develop shin splints and ankle pains due to inproper form.
Of Course if you want to give it all out, go ahead sprint on the balls of your feet. I know what it feels like to get that second wind.
Btw i play football, and do sprinting on track

yup.
Trust me i go to one of the best boarding schools in the nation, and our track coachs are top-grade. Always glide with your feet, if you go on the balls of your feet you will intiate more of your calves rather than your hamstrings and quads
