my traps are really messed up

i seem to be constantly 'pulling' the muscle, even when propey warmed up....good form etc

its mostly my left trap but im sure ive had the right one mess up before as well

could i have badly damaged them at one point and the injuries re-occuring due to scar tissue?

It's annoying because i literally can't seem to work them at all without them even getting damaged or stiff (not in the sense of muscle soreness)......but even when im not working on them i have issues with them, constant stiff necks around the trap area

i guess i should probably go and scope this out with a doctor.

Yes, you should back off and don't aggravate it. Get it diagnosed would be a good idea... then perhaps physical therapy or other rehab work.
