Question Calves and abs for skinny guys?

The norm for calves and abs is fairly high reps. But for ectomorphs, were are told to do low reps ONLY.

So what exactly should I be doing for these? I'm a tall/skinny ecto.

    High Weight/High Rep

It's a small muscle, it can be abused. Some guys do 20+ reps for calves.

I think this is a common misconseption. These muscles shouldnt be trained too differently than your other muscles. The only reason to do high reps low weight would be for spot fat reduction which i believe is a crock of ****. I up my reps slightly on abs, from 8 to 15.

I've read that as well. I just started doin high weight/high reps, so I'll let you know how it goes

Aside from that, it is a very tough muscle used everyday. So I would go with high weight high reps.

if youre doing deadlifts squats pull ups and dips you shouldnt ever need to do direct abdominal work

    BUMP!

Those exercises are the best ab exercises around. I would add standing overhead press to that list though.

To be honest, I haven't done abs in probably 2yrs. I was just wondering how I should do them if I did.
